Well I put on my big Mickey hand glove this morning and waved bye bye to my party of 9 who are off to WDW tomorrow from Manchester airport. It's took me several months to help them as this will be their first time staying onsite.PORS is their resort.I hope they get to see the shows I mentioned which made me think. What would you advise friends that are going for the first time, shows not to be missed.I gave them my list like " Festival of the Lion King ," Indianna Jones ","Fantasmic,"etc. They know about parades & show times as I gave them the park flyers and firework displays. So what shows do you consider a must.?

I would say Mickey's Philharmagic for animated! Beauty and the Beast and Voyage of the Little Mermaid used to be great, however, both have suffered since they shortened greatly. Fantasmic is a must.

Fantasmic! is my number one. Then the rest in no particular order are: Wishes, Festival of the Lion King, Illuminations, and Finding Nemo, and Mickey's Philharmagic.

As far as shows you don't have on there...Finding Nemo is the most current big time show they have and its one of the best. Not sure if your group is all adults or with kids which would be a big difference. Like you said..the Lion King is one not to miss. But look for things that aren't advertised as much too like memories, the magic and you. We had no idea about it until the last night of the trip we saw the projections and were amazed!

If you have all adults...like a previous poster said head up to California Grill for some drinks then watch wishes from the balcony...they may even catch some of the halloween fireworks depending on the length of their stay. Tell them to check out Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party too! Not sure if they have halloween in the UK but its a fun time of year in america

I know it is not technically a show - but we love the street performers at Hollywood Studios - Our favorite show WAS the hunchback at MGM Studios before it closed -
