Controversial opinion: most of the Pixar scores just aren't that good.

Yes, there are some wonderful exceptions to that rule (mostly the Giacchino ones, like Ratatouille and Up), but they're largely forgettable. Avoiding any of the songs with lyrics, can you hum the score to Toy Story? How about Monsters, Inc? Or Cars, maybe? They do a serviceable job in the background of their respective films, but just aren't especially impressive on their own

We saw the Columbus symphony orchestra perform the Pixar in concert last weekend. Going in, I had the same thought (I'd happily take Menken over either of the Newmans). Even though most of the themes are not as memorable (Up and Incredibles, for me) they still fit the movies very well. Combined with the montage clips on the screen t was still a really enjoyable concert

I will humbly disagree. If you actually listen to them separately from the movies, they are quite beautiful. Just because they aren't catchy does mean they aren't worth listening to. Try "Define Dancing" from Wall-E or "The Cleaner" from Toy Story 2. Lots of great stuff to listen to.

This could be really cool if done right.

If it's anything like the Pixar live in concert show that I saw in Boston a few years ago, it will be great. The orchestra would play the music and they had projections for portions of the movies. They played a ton of great music and talked about the different styles in between the songs. I was just happy to hear them play "The cleaner" from Toy Story 2 live and monsters inc :). Hopefully they will keep this longer than just the summer.

Clearly a directive from the Bobs to sell more Pixar merch in the parks. Also crams more shows worth of IP into Disney's Hollywood IP Dumping Ground. Cash grab for vendors in the arena. Compensating for lack of other attractions.

Am I missing anything?

Yup....That u will find a negative in anything? Just sayin

Define Dancing is amazing. I liked it so much I included it in the instrumental playlist for my wedding reception dinner a couple of years ago.

Very pleased that it's a live orchestra, but I'm not really sure what to expect here. If it's music with a handful of characters dancing around on stage, that's all well and good but I without any narrative it's liable to miss the mark with the masses.
I imagine it's a truncated version of the very cool traveling show. Maybe Bob can get us the traveling Game of Thrones music show in summer of 2018.

It's nice to see, with so many attractions closed or being built, they are at least trying to add more to the park.
