The Muppets new tv show

I think it is absolutely fabulous. It was a much more subtle humour and I love the tongue-in-cheek of us believing that furry puppets are typical adults, drinking coffee and living uneventful lives. That being said, it will never fly. Americans like their laugh tracks and one-liners as opposed to the more British situational humour, which this is. I would encourage people to stick with it. Maybe you just don't really get it yet? Shows like this build.

I only have one complaint about the show thus far: where's Walter? I mean, you don't have to give him the most lines out of every character on the show, but at least give him a quick cameo or something!

Not a fan of it...but I'll give it to the end of the season (and pray it gets better in a second season).

It's sad when Muppets Tonight can be seen as the superior show...because Muppets Tonight was BAD...

Ummm...do you even like the Muppets? :)
Love it. Grew up watching the show and the movies in the 70s and 80s. Had a kermit doll growing up. Etc... I remember being excited for the premier of Muppets Tonight, and it was a family affair. I recalled it not being that great, but didn't know why...then I rewatched it last year (the whole series) and...yeah...it had it's moments, but overall wasn't that great of a show. Trying too hard to be "relevant" at times, and some questionable humor (though...NOTHING like what they are doing with the new show).

So, yeah, Muppets Tonight was, on average, bad. But, not nearly as bad as this (or the last Muppets movie...which was phoned in...though, the "reboot" movie a few years back was really good, imho).

I guess that's what I always liked about the Muppets...that, while they appealed to kids, they were more for adults. And I liked that they did this by speaking to the current context, which most family or kids shows did not do at the time. I find the Muppets to be edgy and that's what I find amusing - edgy puppets.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for. No matter what, some will like it and others will not. I am admittedly usually in the minority when it comes to pop culture. The things I like never stick around.
