The Mummy

I don't find Mummy scary at all, it's just bunches and bunches of fun with some kewl effects. It's over-hyped as a "scary ride"...

Dinosaur is MUCH MUCH scarrier than the Mummy, in my opinion. I still scream my head off and freak out every time I ride it, even though I know what's going to happen. It all depends on the person too. If she doesn't like going backwards (short, however), the darkness, or fire, then I wouldn't recommend the Mummy. I say try it however, if she doesn't like it, she'll never have to do it again :D

This is my favourite ride :)
I went on it 10 times in one day and then when we went to IOA i begged my mum to let me go back to universal alone and so i went on it about another 5 times lol.

Both Dinosaur and Mummy aren't really scary. Their fun though. I still find them fun after riding both a crapload of times.

I'll note one fo the current rumors on Screamscape states that Universal is currently working on fixing some of the scenes. The scenes in mentions though are the mummy warriors popping out and the scarabs.

Warriors- Replace the large mannequins with actual AAs like the original previews had. I still won't expect them to actually jump on the cars because there is nothing to jump on.

Scarabs- Added leg ticklers.

Also, the dark ride scenes are supposed to last longer now so maybe the mummy now wont seem as short as it seems.

But I dove the idea of combining dark rides with rollercoasters. I think that is how Primevil Whril should have been done and I am pretty sure Everest will use a similar concept.

I thought this was only for the Hollywood version (which is about half the length of the Florida version) ??? :veryconfu

Those rumors are mentioned for the Hollywood version specifically, but all of those additions SHOULD happen to USF's version too. The scarab scene just flat out sucks right now. They need to have leg ticklers and possibly water coming down from the top as well. And actuall AA warriors that lunge out at the car would be an improvement too.

And they've just got to fix the launch room. It looks so plain and unthemed. Not to mention the screen of Imhotep's mouth looks really fake.

But, I'd say that we will have to settle for the current "good, but not great" version. And I guess that's allright.

I've felt water coming down from the ceiling to make it feel like their are bugs falling on you but this has only happened probably less than five times and I've been on it over 300 times. So I guess this effect rarely ever works!

I think all those changes sound good. But even if they don't happen I still think the ride is great!!!

Well just think about the ride with a WDW budget. Now think of the ride with a Tokyo Disney budget....

I was pretty sure it was talking about Universal Orlando on screamscape.

I do notice something though. I kinda found the line for Mummy bare. People said it was highly detailed but not really. I was expecting something like Dueling Dragons. (All rides need lines that take 15 minutes to walk through).

I am hoping Everest's line really takes 30 minutes to walk through but it is hard to imagine that.

I never made it through the entire queue. I went through the first series of rooms in the building next to the show building so I could see the preshow video and I thought that they did a pretty good job. But when we got to the point where you switch over to the main building, I got tired of waiting and I walked across to the singles line.

I hope EE's queue is nice and it is somewhat long, but not 30 minutes long  I wanna be able to get alot of last minute rides in during the last hour of park operation and a 15 minute queue would be ok, but 30 minutes would wear you out if you had to try and rush to the loading area :)

Oh I loved the Mummy queue. The first part with the "intro" to the Revenge of the Mummy "movie" is kinda boring (and endless! it's huge in there) but then when it goes oustide and into the set, it is so awesome. I love the interactivity in there, too. And it is highly detailed which is a plus. I remember DD having a nice queue, but that was a long time ago....

Honestly, I wasn't too impressed by The Mummy. Everyone kept saying how it was going to be awesome, but, it just didn't seem to work for me. :snore:

The only real problem I have with it is the length of the ride...just too short IMHO. Cool special effects though. :)

I actually don't think the ride is all that short. Compared to some other 'indoor roller coaster" type rides (like *cough* rock n roller coaster) it seems a lot longer to me. I think it's just the last roller coaster portion that is very quick and the ending that makes it feel short.

If you read anything about what they went through to make that friggin ride, you'd be impressed.

Going to actual Egyptian tombs, getting every little detail right, newest technology...it's amazing.

They put a lot of care and effort into that thing. I love everything Egypt, and I like the movie too--I had no idea that'd it'd be a mini-coaster as well. I especially liked the mummy head floating around and vowing to take my soul. :D
