Trip Report The mistakes that I learned from..Trip back in time..

Friends, I've been thinking,

I need a major distraction, and also, I received too many compliments for my laid back style..
I'm going to continue on the trip report binge and do a comparison of our 2015 trip here. It won't be as long.. I promise. If you want to follow along with my madness, you are welcome. I've had a rough past few days and need something to keep me busy.

So here it goes.. first I should change the title though..
ETA- actually its easier to do in a separate thread.

So here I am....

Get on.. T says "This is awesome!!"
Then the ride stops.
T says "Wait, it doesn't go again?"
"Nope"
T- "Well that's not fun!!"

I think everyone feels this way. I think that they should allow two go-arounds each ride, it really wouldnt make wait times too much longer because the ride literally lasts like 30 seconds in the first place.

Wait..I need cash???? I don't have cash at the park!!!

Same thing happened to us with the glowing bubble blowers before the MSEP. I didnt realize that they didnt take cash or Magic Bands as payment (IMO Disney should make it to where they can atleast accept Magic Bands since all you need is a tap device). I sent my sister on a wild goose chase to find the closest ATM just so we could get the stupid thing. Next trip I am buying one from the dollar store and packing in a suitcase. You live and you learn I guess. :bored:

I agree! It really should go twice.

Oh at least I'm not the only one with the cash mistake. Good thing you had a card on you..I definitely learned my lesson on that one.

Oh gosh.. TEARS! Though not ideal, I'm sure you're thankful that he finally spoke up and told you how he was feeling! Everything in your 2016 report is coming full circle now. ;)
I was..I didn't realize he was that on edge. I left out the part of us doing a mad dash to the kiosks after every ride to try and secure a next fast pass.lol. It was hectic.
This is a great TR especially for parents with young ones that can completely empathize with you. Thanks for this!! It's almost therapeutic ;)
Thanks. I got way too many compliments on my recent report.. it was hard learned lessons on this trip that lead to my "go with the flow" attitude on the next one.

This report is - How NOT to Disney with a Child.lol

The like on your meltdown post was a sympathy like. I'm sure it wasn't an easy thing to post but I was glad to see you and T both regroup and be able to enjoy the rest of the night. Definitely see your most recent trip report in a whole new light and see it as a reminder to myself to just slow down and enjoy the moment. Thank you for sharing :).

Thanks for sharing this trip as well as your last.
Something a little creepy happened...another woman took a photo of him as well. She said, "That's so cute, I need a pic too" "ummm, ok" A little odd.lol
This made me laugh so much. When my husband and I went almost 20 years ago we did not want to wait in line for characters so now we have a bunch of pictures with other peoples kids in them. My daughter (7) looks through the album an asked "mom, who is that?" I have to repeatedly say "I don't know" LOL. I would totally find it creepy today :)

Thanks. It was a little embarrassing to type that all out.. but maybe some "new to Disney" person will read it and not make the same mistake. I need to relive it every once in awhile so I won't make that same mistake again.

FWIW my husband and I are taking our daughter to Disney during the week between Christmas and New Year's (level ten crowds, yikes!). She'll be almost three. None of us have ever been before.

We're definitely taking your hard learned lessons into consideration as we're making our touring plans. And I appreciate this thread so so much.

Than you. It was definitely embarrassing to post that..you would have thought that I learned my lesson there.. but, my new "zen" attitude didn't last very long.lol

What an amazing week for a first trip!!! I'm sure you'll have a great time! It's so much better when you're not walking around in raging heat and humidity. Those 2 things played a huge factor into both of our strained nerves, especially kiddo's.

That is so true. There are less chances of meltdoens when it is not boiling hot. It may be overly busy around Christmas, but with a 3 year old, she won't care if she doesn't make it on Peter Pan. It is usually the parents that get upset because they think their kids will be missing something.

I enjoyed catching up with your trip report. I can relate and have learned more to add to my trip knowledge and planning. Nice job.
Thanks!

I haven't added yet, because I'm absolutely sick to my stomach about my missing photos. I think I deleted my "favorites" album in iCloud sometime last summer. I am missing sooooo many photos :(

Ok so today is Epcot day..

But first- 1900 Park Fare!!
..or not...
I let us sleep in til almost 7am today. Our reservation was at 8, and we were heading to Epcot afterwards.

T would not get up.
Refused to get out of bed.
Did not want to go to breakfast, just wanted to lay there.

I thought this was over yesterday!!!

I pleaded, coaxed, spoke sternly..nothing mattered. He refused to go to breakfast.
So, I cancelled 1900 Park Fare.

I gave in and decided maybe I should go back to sleep for a bit too. We both slept until 8:45ish.

We got dressed and picked up a to go breakfast from Captain Cook's then brought it back to the room.
The Tonga Toast is not quite as good there as it is from Kona Cafe/Room Service.. but I got my fix.

It's now well after 9, heat is already fogging my sunglasses.. and we walk to the TTC.

T did NOT like this. He seriously complained the entire time. I didn't understand it.. he's not a lazy kid! We have amusement park passes and walk all day there. He plays sports year round. He was currently playing full tackle football 4 days per week, 2.5 hours per day at that time.
Why was he whining??????

Tuvalu is by far the longest distance to the TTC..but still..this kid's complaining about the heat was driving me nuts. He was drenched in sweat.

Finally- on the monorail. He'll be happy and forget about his sweat drenched clothes when we arrive at Epcot!

Heat index today- 106.

We arrive at Epcot. Pick up the stroller, I let him sit in it until we reach our first FP- Mission Space.

IMG_0096.JPG

This play area. I lost track of time.. but he was in there wayyyy too long.lol.
IMG_0099.JPG

Then we head over to Nemo. We left the stroller by Test Track, I told T that we would be back here shortly.

Nemo and the Seas-

This CM was great! We probably spent 15 minutes with her. I was ok with that. T loves learning about sharks.

Then Test Track..

Now back over to Soarin'...

We did bring the stroller there. But I decided to leave it while we went to do other things. As in walk around World Showcase.
Mistake.

First we stop for him to cool off.

Now off to World Showcase!!
You are going to love this T!! We don't want to deal with a bulky stroller, this is one of my favorite areas in Disney World! It will be one of your favorites as well!!. Yes, fine, bring the water fan.

We watched a fun band play in England.. (apparently in my deleted mistake)

Then made our way to France..
IMG_0171.JPG

I love what humidity does to my hair ;) ..especially when I don't have my flat iron...
IMG_2214.JPG

Now my FAVORITE-- Morocco!!
"T isn't this the coolest spot!!"
It instantly became his favorite part of WS.
Sometimes we are alike ;)
IMG_2203.JPG

We ate at my favorite QS in all of Disney World- Tangerine Cafe.
A friend joined us..

IMG_0172.JPG

I had never paid attention to their children's menu before. HORRIBLE. Come on Disney..give the kids some couscous and falafel.

I didn't realize that I could have used a QS credit on an adult meal for him, so, I used a credit for me, and paid for an adult meal for him.
We did the falafel wrap, and the shawarma platter. Of course had some baklava for dessert. Yum. :)

Mistake.
I was questioning the giant stroller we rented but I think that I will be thankful in the end. Again, I am so glad you are taking the time to share both trips.

I regret not using it properly. I look back on these photos and realized that he is dripping in sweat on almost every one. It probably would have been a very different day had I not left the stroller in Future World for several hours while we were in WS.

I had been thinking myself that his hair looked like he just got out of a shower.:)
Now you have me double thinking whether I should get a double for our next trip.Just to give maybe another kid a few minutes to sit without DD6 yelling to get out of her spot. I can see the arguing already.:p
