The Merch Alert Thread

Picked up the new Jim Shore Pinocchio piece that came out recently. I think it’s one of the best representations of Pinocchio I’ve seen. Although if you stare too hard you might get weirded out by the “veins” on the side of his head that make him look like a roided out body builder. But I guess since they are partially made by hand that’s part of the charm.

Had to go with the classic canary yellow of course. Blue was almost sold out and they had a red one that didn’t know if it wants to be red or coral. Seriously considering cutting the plant off from the stem below which seems easy enough to do.

Why do the people making this merch think we need these things to double as something else or we won’t want them? There is very much a market for Disney attraction vehicle figures etc. I don’t need a fake plant in it to want it. Or the 3D attraction poster lamps. If they were priced at 75$ as statues instead of doubling as a lamp for $140 I would have bought all of them instead of just one. With that said I am happy they re making attraction poster and attractions vehicle merch.

The market is me, as someone who also bought this Space Mountain succulent holder on Etsy. 😂 I ended up buying the blue Skyway bucket to pair with this one.

Haha I’d buy that too. Just would prefer it all without the fake plants. Although I’d expect the Space Mountain model to be higher quality without the fake plant gimmick. So maybe I answered my own question and that’s why they do it.

Yeah, the artificial plants in these are a odd choice.

Just sell the containers and let Guests place whatever they want in em’.

Without the extra cost of providing the plastic ‘plant’, these items will cost less to make.
But they can be sold at the same price, of course.

More money for Mickey!
Everybody wins!

Yeah it’s not as if they ve been selling models of the ride vehicles, facades and attraction vehicles. It’s been slim to nothing for years so a standard, non fake plant version first would be appreciated. With that said, happy anything of the sort is seeing the light of day.

I do own this on my work office, so apparently I’m suckered in too. But it’s meant for a real plant.
