This thing was great . . .
It is not to be confused with the Campfire Program which is still up and running.
My brother and I did this about 20 or so years ago. You got into a canoe with about 10 other people and you went to secluded spot on Bay Lake where you had a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks and you roasted marshmallows over a fire. Later, Chip and Dale visited and you did the whole character thing.
The cast members would share some Disney secrets also and sing songs (this is where I first heard about how the Contemporary was built.)
Now, this may sound like the beginning of a Friday the 13th film, but it was a neat program.
Only old-school Fort Wilderness visitors (like people who remember the tram running through the campground) would know of this.
