I was a HUGE fan of SOARIN' since I first experienced it while at California Adventure a couple summers ago!

The "making-of" information Steve linked to adds a whole new layer of enjoyment to the ride - even for SOARIN' veterans - once you realize how much went in to making it the visually thrilling experience it is!

Thanks to DisneyLand for sharing this gift with us as we celebrate 50 years of Disney Magic!

I have to agree the ride is awesome. I for one love the video itself as well; I didn't know CA for so diverse and beautiful. But then again I have never been to the state.

Also what the ride has added to the pavilion is great and I am glade it was put where it is.

As for the film, I don't know. Something about flying over the San Fransisco Bridge, suburbia California, a golfing range, Disneyland, and LA that makes it feel so "limited..." (in the long term).

But aren't views of cities and man-made bridges reflective of man's "impact" on the Land and how we as a society have integrated our ways of life into the landscape (the whole symbiosis thing)? One could argue views of these places portray a more accurate depiction of the Earth's landscape we as humans have helped shape and that they are just as important as the multitude of natural wonders that are also portrayed in the current film, places like the Monterey Coast, Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Honestly, if the film is changed in the future as rumored, I would like them to keep such evidence of man's impact on the landscape. Its an important part of showing how we are living with "The Land".
