So.. Umm.. This used to be a thing..? ....At EPCOT...? Really? Please tell me I'm not the only one who didn't know about this?

So can we blame Barbie for the beginning stages of the "new direction" of EPCOT?

Its a part of Disneys history thats better forgotten. Yes it happened. Barbie was/ is still very popular with young girls ( and older women who collect them ) and it was envisioned to be a show that would have a popular draw.... Didnt last long. Welllll.... Barbie has made a come back in the Toy Story movies. :in pain: It was a concept that was tried and quickly dropped but I wouldnt blame Barbie for being the reason EP has stumbled.

That show really made me angry. It SO didn't belong anywhere in Epcot. Very dumb move, Disney!
Yup, and to think about the upset about something that at least has a minor connection to Norway (at least in the minds of many), as opposed to Barbie (where there cannot even be an imagined connection). And in 1994 EPCOT was only 11 years old. The focus hadn't really noticeably changed, unless you recognize the Barbie thing as an early message of how they were starting to think.

Something very interesting to think about now...

And Daredevil Circus was in 1988. Even earlier. And both were later admitted to have been a mistake. How long will Norway take I wonder.

I know we don't agree there, but, I don't see that happening with Norway. Different set of circumstances and different times. Now the Frozen appeal may eventually fade, but, their biggest problem is not content, it is space for what we all understand will be a nightmare at startup with demand.

There was one guy somewhere on these forums that said Finding Nemo the Musical was cheesy... Apparently he's never seen this.

The entire TV Special of Walt Disney World's Celebrity Circus was on Youtube at one point...It's a shame it was removed..At least there is a clip of it...
