Does anyone else think that a may be time to revamp or add to the Living Seas! I love the attraction but I feel it may be time to give it a new look!

I'm torn on this one. I love the attraction the way it is, however, there is so much new technology (i.e. deep sea diving equipment) that could be showcased along with the aquatic displays. The aquarium should be kept as is, but the whole attraction could use a face lift.

Lose the ride parts.
While Disney will never make the attraction as good as SeaWorld I vote for a total change and make it a lot more educational instead of just "viewing fish through windows"

aquariums seem to be more common now than they were when epcot first opened...personaly i think disney just needs to really update living seas and maybe put in some more unusual exhibits...they need something to set them apart from other aquariums. usually i'm all about tradition and keeping things the way they are, but i'm making an exception this time. i remember a time when i had to push my way through the crowd to even get to the glass...last time i was in living seas getting up to the glass was no problem at all. i think a major update would really help LS's attendance. it has so much potential, and right now it's just not reaching it. besides, i think taking it out completely may cost disney more money than just remodeling it.

I agree with Dizknee-Phreek, don't take it out, just revamp it. Disney needs to work its Magic on this attraction before it becomes extinct like Horizons or 20,000 Leagues.
Maybe an interactive exibit showing the new technology of scuba diving, ocean exploration, etc, or a touch tank. Personally I think that would be really cool. Whatever they do, it needs to be something different, never done before. That's what the imagineers are for.

Disney should always update and maintain their pavilions. If you're talking about changing the whole pavilion's theme, no. The Living Seas really should stay!!

I think the attraction suffers from lack of a true theme. Living Seas OK, but what kind of theme is that? What ABOUT the living seas?

I mean are we gonna save the reefs from destruction or all those porpoises from the tuna nets or are we gonna build a big submarine and go down there and see all the fish or what? People want to be entertained!! They want to be swept away to another time and place. They want a purpose, a goal, a thrill.

I could spend hours there just watching the fish but my kids are all standing around trying to get out of the place. They need a reason to stay and the "Living Seas" just doesn't hold them there.

What if guests were to board a "submarine" in SBA than, via hydrolic pumps, descends into the actual aqaurium? Sort of like the hydrolators, only for real? REAL fish would be over, under, and all around them. Or, for a much better idea, why doesn't Disney try to obtain some really nasty looking and very rare aqatic creatures (like the nautilis, this weird squid/octopus/snail/cuttlefish thing thats like the most endangered animal in the sea?) I'm sure there may be limitations on endangered species, because only certain establishments/organizations are allowed to keep and breed them, but still, there could do a bonzer job of teaching the public through highly interactive displays. On a lighter note, there definetely should be a revamp of the technology exhibited there, as well as a general refurbishment to make it seem more open - it gets chlautrophbic in there at times, even if there aren't many people! Make it more bright and airy. And if, heaven forbid, the omnimover returns, give the ride a plot. Other than that, I'm fresh out of ideas!
