Previously, the pavilion closed at 7:00, along with most of Future World. Now, its being kept open until the entire park closes at 9:00 p.m. This is probably due to the really big crowds that Turtle Talk draws and is probably being done in anticpation of Nemo's Undersea Adventure, which is sure to draw in humongous crowds as well.

Wow, it's almost getting to the point where nearly all of Future World is open until 9:00. All that's left is UOE, Innoventions, Imagination, and some of The Land.

I'd say if they opened up all of those except one, Future World would still "close" at 7 pm

Now, wouldn't that be fun to explain to guests? :)

They would probably just tell them the truth: We want you in World Showcase eating dinner at our resturants and spending money at our shops. Can't blame them. As long as they keep the major FW attractions open until Epcot closes, why not close the less popular attractions and set up the FW closing time to try and migrate people across the way? I think it is a very smart move.

You miss the true point. It's not a smart move- it's a knee-jerk reaction to the crashing economy which directly followed 9/11. Future World never closed any earlier than World Showcase prior to that.

The true point, I say, is that be happy you managed to save some cash over the years following by closing things / cutting staffing early. The bottom line is, however, that attendance is right back up to what it was before 9/11, and in fact Happiest Celebration on Earth even helped to draw beyond that. There's no longer an excuse to close things early, regardless of how "new" or "technologically edgy" the rides may be. It's a simply fact of there are paying guests in the park - many more than a few years ago, and you need to keep more rides open to occupy them.

Wow, maybe if I go near 9pm I will actually get to see Turtle Talk for the first time.

I have never gotten why they close everything but the rides with the long lines at 7pm....I'd like to do stuff with short waits while waiting for Illuminations.

But how many people are really wanting to see UoE, the current Imagination pavilion, Living With The Land, Circle of Life, and Innoventions after 7 pm? I'd say very few. As long as the major attractions are still open until 9, what's the big deal. This mainly is a way to force people to see FW early (WS doesn't open until 11 anyways) and then move to the back of the park at the end of their day. But there are still penty of people at M:S, TT, and Soarin after 7.

Same here. I've seen a video on the internet and it looks kinda cute, but it is nothing I've been upset over not seeing yet. No way I'm going to wait more than 15 or 20 minutes to see it.

The line is long because capacity is low but also because it's a quality show. I've seen it three or four times now. It's definitely worth the wait. It's very entertaining, IMO, and the technology is great.

Good, I'm tired of rushing to TTWC at when we hop to Epcot, and having to wait and extra hour/2 for dinner so we don't miss it before it closes. Great to see it open. It's always packed, even when the pavilion closes.

I like the idea of closing some attractions early too. There is no reason for dead attractions to stay open. When Disney manages their money better, everybody wins.

Well, that would also explain why thyey're keeping The Living Seas open until 9, wouldn't it? It has The Coral Reef resturant. And by keeping the whole pavilion open, it might drawn in more drop-ins to the restaurant on the occasions that it's not operating at full capacity. On top of that, I've heard many people say the resturant's atmosphere is a lot better than the menu. Maybe giving people more of a chance to see the restaurant is the best advertising they can get for future reservations.

DING DING DING DING, WE HAVE A WINNER:D .From what I understand, that was one of the main factors for the 9 p.m. closing time. More business for the Coral Reef restaurant.

Future world used to close at 7pm for years in the mid-late 90s. I always got annoyed that i was forced to go to Epcot first because half of it would close early. I was thrilled when they finaly stopped that and opened everything back up until 9pm, then 9/11 changed it back to it's current schedule. So no it's not new, it's just disagreeable. To be honest if they'd just keep Living with the Land open, as of now most everything I actually want to see is open. I hardly ever bother with Figment, or UOE, or Innoventions.

Didn't Coral Reef always stay open later? I thought it had a separate entrance.

I believe that is true, but I'm thinking they are expecting the new ride to bring in a lot of people anyways. And I'm sure the resturant is more likely to recieve some attention if the pavilion is open too.
