YAY my store is on the list that will remian open. I know it isn't a final list but I now hope it will be!

I'm in that District too...Freehold, NJ. I know the DM is based out of your store (or at least was).

I'm very sad. Ours is on the closing list! I'm surprised since when I was in there last week, I talked with an assistant manager, and they were gearing up for the switch over. Not that he would have said they were closing to me, but there was some definite discussions/movement of stuff going on when I was there.

One of the stores on the list isnt even open yet. It was a store that was going to be built here in deer park with the new outlet stores.
So does this mean it wont be in the new outlets or that disney will take over the construction (well setup since disney is not building the actual building) of the store?

Yeah, Beth. I actually haven't met her yet- i've only been there a bit, and i usually work nights. She's normally out of there by 5 when she is here.

Well, they were probably discussing the moving around of the store. The new stage set (that is, summer products and the arranging of the store) is set for next Monday, 4/14. Whether they are closing or not, they still need to have the new product out and arranged on 4/14.

The Childrens Place is Completely getting out of the Disney stores.
It will take awhile for all the transitions to go through.
They go to court at the end of the month. Closings should follow shortly after.

Remember that this is a Preliminary List. It is not set in stone. As anything in life, it can change.
Stores are being closed not necessarily because of lack of money making. Some are because their lease is not being renewed. So they have no choice.
Hopefully, things will go back to the old days when Disney owned it. Better and more merchadise and perks. Make it feel like Disney and its Magic!

On the "remaining open" list are two of my old stores (KP and WG, both in Phila area). My other old store, Exton, is on the other list. That was the last new store that Disney opened, back in 2000. I see the new outlet for Limerick on the "other" list - will that never be opened? My friends still in the district are hoping for the best, but I think some of them are going to get the axe....

I was totally bummed to see my store (Huntsville) on the closed list. Sadly, the next thought was about how I can't remember the last time I bought anything there, since adult items are an afterthought for the last few years. I wish mine was staying, but the mall is slowly dying. I just would love to see what Disney does with them.

I don't know for sure, but I'm thinking that the outlet store in Limerick won't open. It's a very sad and anxious time for all of us TDS CMs.
