I have 4 days left! I'm so happy and jumpy at the same time! I really can't contain myself. How do you handle the last week?
It's so hard isn't it! The last week is rough but, I am sure you still have some errands and small things to do. Savor the prep...it's one of the best parts of a Disney Vacation. Before you know it you will be there yelling...SECURITY!!!!!

Woohoooo!!!!! By 4 days out, I'm running myself ragged... swearing EVERY year, I'll be done a day ahead of schedule. Nope, never happens!! LOL I pack (well MY suitcase) a few days out, and say (outloud, mind you) "the next time I wear this, I'll be walking down Main St!!!" We do Disney movies, every week a month out, ending with Lion King. (which has me scrambling around to find the DVD) MAJOR house cleaning (I even strip all the beds... I want to come home to clean sheets!!) I go out and about as much as possible too, do breakfast out w/my son, meet the girls for a brunch the week before, and shopping... oh yes, shopping!!! Enjoy this feeling Figgy, its almost as good as driving under that wondeful Walt Disney World arch!!!! Have the BEST time ever!!!!!!!! xoxo

I watch videos on-line and most especially the planning DVD and imagine myself on property. I check, re-check and re-check again my suitcases. I usually pack the week before then agonize about what I packed for a week. I try not to stress out too much at work, I tell myself the problems you leave behind will still be there when you get back. Like someone once told me, the only week worse than the week before vacation is the week after vacation. Figgy have a great trip.

I totally get the happy and jumpy. So close yet so much left to do and then the "Will this year's worth of planning come off without a hitch?" starts to set in. My DH doesn't even consider packing until the evening before we leave (and that is grounds for divorce in my books), so he isn't sitting on his case to close it until after midnight. The house gets thoroughly cleaned, last minute purchases are done, the weather is watched closely and the travel documents are put thru their paces a couple dozen more times. As soon as that door closes and we are on the way to the airport, it is GAME ON!

Everyone has their own rituals.

For me, with a week to go, the suitcase is upstairs, basics are thrown in, my detergents, toiletries and bubblewrapped bottles of wine are in, and I start filing all of my paperwork in the necessary folders.

I have a friend who moves the suitcases to the car when she gets under a week. So she is ready, set and just has to hold off for the airport and she is good to go.

BTW - major jealous of you!!

OK, I'm excited and jealous about the OP's upcoming trip but here's what I did last year:

- Once I had my trip booked in November, I kept calling Disney every two weeks to ask questions about things I read, and to check to see if they had a better deal than what I had in place.
- Got my dining reservations done around February/March
- The whole month before I kept planning the drive down to Orlando, planning what time to leave, etc.
- The whole week before, I kept checking my itinerary which at the time (not sure if it still does) was showing a countdown of how many days I had left until my trip.
- The day before, we planned on going to the pool and letting our son wear himself out so he would go to bed early and we would go to bed too around 6 to wake up at midnight and go. None of that happened and I went to sleep at 10:45pm for a short nap which I couldn't fall asleep and by 11:30 I just got up and we drove down. Even though I was tired it was the MOST EXCITING DRIVE! But next time we'll leave and sleep in a hotel on the road because the 8 hour drive from Atlanta was not fun after the tiredness hit me in Orlando.
