Anyways Jet has a bright future both academically and athletically. At curriculum night we met with her future coaches and they let us know Spring break will not be possible in high school with her sports schedule.

As a result we decided now was the time to do our dream trip! Disneyland and Hawaii!

Plans:

We actually fly out late on the 19th but we are just staying at the airport that night.

Next morning early (hoping to make early entry) we will drive over drop off our bags then head to Disneyland. We have dinner reservations at Cafe Orleans.

21st -DCA with Dinner at Carathay Circle

22nd will be an early morning with a 7am flight to Oahu. We hope to see Pearl Harbor as soon as we land and then head to Aulani. We are doing the luau at Aulani that night. Unfortunately this was the only day we could do it.

3/23- we have two excursions. Shark diving tour and a horseback ride through Kualoa Ranch. Handsome is a huge Jurassic Park fan so this was high on his list. We have dinner reservations at Monkey Pods across from Aulani

3/24- hike diamond head then resort time. We have dinner reservations at AMA' AMA' at Aulani.

3/25- we plan to visit Honolulu then catch our flight to Kauai.

I'm not sure if I will report on our Kauai portion of our trip.

We plan to do a lot of hiking. Our only "excursion" here is a private boat tour of the Na'Pali Coast.

We are down to 17 days until our big adventure!

Oh my goodness, this sounds like soooo much fun! I can't wait for the report. Kauai is my favorite of the islands, so I'm sure people will love seeing some of that in your report as well. The hiking there is very worthy of at least a few photos! Have the best time!

Sounds like fun. Have a great time!
Thank you! We have hit the 2 week mark.
What a wonderful trip you have planned! We honeymooned in Hawaii and spent most of our time in Kauai. It’s lovely!
We went to Maui when Jet was little and it is my Hubby's favorite vacation of all time. I am hoping this one can top it.
This sounds like an amazing trip! I'd love to visit both Hawaii and Disneyland some day.
It's been on our bucket list. It's very pricey to travel that far for a family of 6 so I hope it's lives up to my hype.

Everyone I talk to raves of the beauty of Kauai. I will make sure to share some of it here.

We did a Disneyland/Hawaii trip for spring break 2 years ago (well, spring break plus another week). We did 5 nights at Disneyland, 7 nights at Aulani, and then 2 nights in San Diego. I'd love to do another trip like that someday but it will have to be shorter.

Not gonna lie pretty disappointed that the entrance to DCA from the Grand Californian is closed. We had all been dreaming about that walk into the park😭.

I booked this too far in advance so I didn't realize this was happening. I should have done my research.
I don't even stay there but I use that entrance a few times when I go to the Hearthstone lounge and the Craftsman. It makes me feel like I'm a fancy guest.

Alright let's get this party started!

March 19th- travel day

Our flight out of Ohio was scheduled for 6:00pm. SW kept messing with the schedule ALL day long. It was creating major anxiety for my Hubby on our connecting flight in Denver. We only had 50 minutes after all their modifications. Our flight was the last flight into John Wayne so if we missed our connecting flight we would be sleeping in Denver instead of Anaheim.

First thing first let's get to the airport!

Handsome loves Donatos pizza. He has come to associate Donatos with going to Disney since one of the few options in our SW terminal. Half our crew had pizza while the other half tried some of the vending machine salads. I have to admit, it was pretty darn good!
IMG_9123.jpeg

Dinner solved we spoke to the gate agent who said they changed a flight plan to put us back on time. So anxiety relieved as we boarded for take off!

See you tomorrow Grand Californian!

There are influencers all over the internet getting vacation ready while on their flights. Nene decided to be a wanna be influencer and do a face mask while flying🫣.

We hustled to our connecting flight and made the flight without issue. Since we were getting in so late we stayed at the embassy suites by the airport. The shuttle had already stopped however I called the hotel and they said they would send it anyways. No pictures from our room but it was clean and convenient. I was up at 4:30 this next morning. I got ready, packed my bag and then ubered back to the airport to get our rental car. At last we have arrived!

I checked in at the front desk and they told us we were upgraded to a "woods view". My guess this was do to the construction going on everywhere around the resort. We left our bags and quickly made our way to Disneyland for early Entry. We made it through the turnstiles quickly.

We decided to do Fantasyland rides first since they weren't included in LL.
IMG_9128.jpeg

We hit up everything except Alice. It had a surprisingly long line. I do regret not jumping in it because we forgot to ever go back. At the end of extra hours we hopped in line for the Matterhorn.
IMG_9130.jpeg
After about a 10 minute wait the they told us the ride was down. Since the park was open we decided to slow down and grab some breakfast.

The line was still low next door so we hopped right in.

Right after we got on the ride hubby realized his wallet was missing. He doesn't handle losing things well. I am sure the people we were riding with were super annoyed (rightly so) as we used our cellphone lights to search through Hubby's backpack.
When we got off he hustled back to breakfast to see if anyone found it.
Meanwhile the rest of us daydreamed what it would be like to have very different wallets.

Luckily Hubby's wallet was still where we had breakfast. Crisis averted. We made our way across to Tomorrowland for our first LL Space Mountain.

We love the DL version. It's so much smoother and it's fun to sit with a buddy and hear all their squeals and giggles. The wait time for ROTR said 40 minutes so we decided to head that way next. I told everyone how the big cannons still move forward and back and I must have been pretty excited about this. It became running joke the rest of the trip. We waited less than 40 and the cannons were as good as I remembered.
