Now I wasn't sure where to put this, so hang with me on this one...Cast your mind back to your first ever WDW planned vacation..:inlove:..It's all well looking at pictures and noting down rides and attractions that you want to see and do, where and what to eat,etc..Now this is where you've got to think real hard..What was the one jaw dropping experience you had on that very first trip..:jawdrop:..Was it the fireworks.?..Or a ride.?..Maybe the sheer size of Disney.?..Or a sight that will remain with you forever.?..Our first trip in 2004 was 7 nights at the CBR..( 2 centre vacation..1 week on site..1 week off site ) Now although that was only nine years ago,it seems like ages..Anyway, everything we saw was kinda jaw dropping,as we had never visited a place that looked like this magical land...If I had to pick one " Jaw dropping moment " It would have to be seeing Cinderella's Castle for the first time..It was on our second day,and as we turned into Main Street USA..There she stood..In all her splendour..:jawdrop:...So can you remember your first trip and that one moment that blew you away.?..Here's my salute to mine..;)

1996--DH and I had been to DL in June, and then my first trip to WDW--I was so excited to see the castle, and --just--:jawdrop:! The cake they had displayed in the food court at Dixie Landings (you know it as Riverside Mill) was cool. But this--took the cake. There were no happy tears that trip. And I didn't go back until 2008 with the DH and 2 kiddos. I really wasn't in a hurry.

I was 2 my first trip so I don't remember my "jaw-dropping" moment. I do remember loving the fireworks. I have been spoiled for fireworks ever since. Nobody does them as good as Disney does.

By the way, that 25th birthday castle was an atrocity. Whoever came up with the idea and whoever approved it should all have been fired.

My mom bought me a snowglobe with that birthday cake lookin castle in it. I'm pretty sure I got rid of it...or gave it away.

I don't remember a "jaw dropping" experience the first time I went to Disney (I was 5) but, I get one every time I go now. And it is seeing the castle for the first time on my trip. I will probably get another jaw dropping moment when I see the castle lit up in twinkly lights for Christmas and when I see the Osborne Family Light Spectacular!

My first visit was in 1996 too, by November though someone had eaten all the sweets, so it was all painted pink.
I did t go again until I had children of my own in 2011, when I saw the castle in all it's beauty I really appreciated it for the first time.
For our second trip with the whole family, during the day, I think a huge sigh of relief escaped me. At night, it was this:
th

:jawdrop: and then ...for all the right reasons!

I can't remember that far back to my first visit! But the first solo trip I went without my family or classmates, my jaw dropping moment had to be when I arrived at Pop Century. I was in awe about the whole resort. It was large, colorful and vibrant. And no matter how many times I go, the walk down Main Street to the castle is jaw dropping every time.

My first trip was in 1972 and I don't have any recollection of a true jaw-dropping moment from the early trips. However, the first time that my DH, DS & I went in 2004 it had been 24 years since I had been to WDW, and there was only the MK then. So we arrived at our hotel, Pop, pretty excited about that, really cool. We got settled, went for dinner, and then over to the MK for MVMCP. Main Street USA decked out for Christmas! Jaw on the floor. We have done 3 trips with the Christmas decorations up and it still brings back that same feeling.

My first trip was 1996 and I to had the horrendous cake instead of Cinderellas castle so that was a jaw dropping memory for all the wrong reasons on a positive note I couldn't get over how big everything was and how beautiful the fireworks were. Thankfully all the times I have returned since the castle has been beautiful

My first trip was in 1991 with my 4 year old daughter, 5 year old neice and my parents. We stayed at the Contemporary, and knowing nothing about anything we were blindly assigned rooms. Well, did my jaw drop when we walked into the room my parents were staying in and the view was Cinderella's Castle!! For 2 little girls (and one grown-up!) it doesn't get any better than that! That is until we were watching the parade one day in MK, my daughter dressed in her Alice in Wonderland dress (which I still have 22 years later) and Alice spotted her in the crowd and waved to my daughter and made quite the fuss. All so magical!!

I had more "happy tear" moments and "smiling ear to ear" moments then I did jaw dropping, however the two that stand out to me are:

After checking in to AOA and just walking around the resort and being fascinated with all the detail.

The moment during POTC when the sky just seems to open up.

My 1st trip in Aug 2003 we went to the MK in the evening after arriving. After the amazement of the castle, I was shocked at the short lines. We rode the Barnstormer, Pooh, the teacups and a few more. I was totally expecting huge lines after some of the books I read.
