The "I've created a monster" October 2012 pre-trip report

Today marks 90 days until I get to go back to Disney World for my 2nd trip ever so I figured I would post my first pre-trip report and hopefully it comes out OK.

A quick background on the title, my first trip was in 2010 for my honeymoon. My wife had been several times before that as a child and teenager but it had been over 10 years for her. She talked me into going with a little help from the fact that we would be down there during Star Wars weekends because I'm a huge Star Wars geek. I had so much fun on our honeymoon that I can't wait to get back and I spend a lot of time reading about Disney World and planning our next trip back (I maybe even obsess a little) so my wife made the comment "I've created a monster" and well it seems fitting for the title.

The cast for this trip will be myself 32, my DW31, our DS (will be 19 months when we go), along with my mother-in-law, her soon to be husband, my sister-in-law, and my wife's grandmother. The four of them will only be down there for part of our trip. The only two first timers will be my son and my soon to be step father-in-law. However I still consider myself a novice even with all the reading I've been doing.

My DW, DS, and I will be flying down on October 5th in the early evening and will be flying back on October 15th in the late evening. My in-laws will fly in on October 8th and will fly out on October 13th. Originally we were going to fly down in the early morning on October 6th but by the time we got around to booking our flight the only direct flight down out of our airport of choice was sold out and there wasn't another direct flight until that evening so instead we decided to add another day to our stay.

I will post our itinerary and ADRs in a little bit.

You'll LOVE POFQ, it's smaller and manageable and just awesome. I'm so glad that a new Disney loving monster has been created! Welcome to the club! :D

So we just changed both my wife & I's trip along with the in-laws trip to October 4th to take advantage of the free dining :) I'm still messing around with some of the ADRs now which is good because I was running out of planning to do for the trip and wasn't sure how I would pass the time until October.

YAY for new found Disney love!! It's quite addicting isn't it? :D

Your ADR's look great and you can't beat free dining!!!
Indeed it is very addicting.

With the change in plans comes some slight changes in our ADRs. Mostly the same places but on slight different days.

October 5th Dinner at Boma
October 6th Dinner at Boatwrights
October 7th Lunch at Coral Reef
October 8th Late lunch at Sci-fi drive in
October 9th Lunch at Le Cellier
October 10th Late breakfast at Chef Mickey's
October 11th Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine
October 12th Lunch at Raglan Road
October 13th Dinner at Garden Grill
October 14th Lunch at Tony's town square

I'm keep trying to get earlier reservations for Sci-fi and Chef Mickey's but so far no luck.

Looks like a good plan. I think you are going to love PORS. As a fellow Star Wars Geek, I can tell you that you will also love Star Tours 2.0.

Have a great Trip!

Yea the new Star Tours is one of the things I most looking forward to. With my DS1 though I probably wont get to go on it much but I will make it on at least once or twice while my DW or inlaws watch him.

So here i am with less then 24 hours before we board the plane to Orlando. We are mostly packed except for a few last minute items and I still have to go to work for a few hours this morning. We have our ADRs ready to go and I was just able to score an earlier Chef Mickey's ADR last night. My wife and i will have a date night on Monday to go to MNSSHP (We are going as bacon and egg). I'm sure I will be completely useless at work this morning as I wont be able to think about anything work related. MY DS1 will not raise his hand when we ask "Who's going to see Mickey" and yes it is the cutest thing I've ever seen. We've been looking forward to this sense last year and I think my wife has finally caught up to me in excitement level (in her defense I'm really really really excited). I'll be sure to get as many pictures as I can and I will make my best attempt at a trip report when I get back.

May you all have a very magical day!
