Just an idea...I have always thought that it would be cool to give some of the resorts small, non-water slide attractions. How fun would it be to revamp COP a bit, and put it in between the two different pop century sections. If it is true that WDW will not be getting any more parks, why not give some non e-ticket attractions to the resorts, where appropriate, and where it would not take away from the experience of the registered guests at that resort.

I would think if Disney builds something on the level (or above) of Spiderman, that they would put it into a brand new building...not an existing building where they would be constrained by space. Just a thought.

One would hope it is in whatever spot they have adequate space for something like that....:D

Thats what came to mind...I really hope Disney someday creates a dark ride like or better than Spidy...

In my mind, The Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye is, pound for pound, a superior attraction to The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman. Sure, Spiderman's technology is four years superior and it is a fantastic attraction, but I feel like IJA makes better use of its environment. On Spiderman, I've never felt once like I wasn't in a warehouse, whereas Indy has one of the most elaborate and detailed queues that really helps to remove you from the real world that is Disneyland :)

That said, I hope Spiderman (and, to some lesser extent, DarKastle) are the not the last of the epic, dimensional dark rides. The rumors circulating about the adaptation of the Robocoaster technology to dark rides are both exciting and promising, as the technology offers the potential for both tame and wild experiences and, better still, adaptability. That is to say that, because much of the Robocoaster's movement is not governed by track, but by programming, there exists enormous opportunity to make an attraction somehow interactive.

Similarly, I think Vekoma has something promising with Pandora's Box.

I'd hope beyond hope that a new dark ride would not be shoe-horned into an existing Tomorrowland structure, however. Nothing there, save for perhaps Space Mountain, is large enough to house anything approximating the scale of even the smallest E-ticket dark rides.

Well there is the Galaxy Theater, CoP and Skyway Station....those certainly form a large enough space that could even be expanded into a parking lot...

Well, sure -- there's plenty of space in the area for new construction. Additionally, there's room outside the berm north of Space Mountain and, possibly, in the existing backstage area between Tomorrowland and Main Street, USA.

I love the Carousel of Progress and thus won't entertain any possibility that it'd be removed or, even less likely, relocated. The building is so much an integral part of that attraction that it doesn't seem feasible to relocate it.

Another consideration, I think, for siting an attraction on the current plot occupied by CoP and the other bits and pieces there is how a new, large building might impact the appearance of the park from Bay Lake. Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom is unique because it is prominently visible from the lake and from the resorts that ring it. A large new building in the foreground might distract from the visual interest that exists now with Cinderella Castle and Space Mountain featuring prominently in the skyline.

To remove COP wouldn't they need to remove the TTA?

LOL Probably the same proof that you have offered to back up your original post :D

Well, while proof (either way would be cool), since part of the title to this forum includes the word "rumor" the burden of proof possibly lies with the person who wants to discredit the rumor.

Most of us here know it's a rumor not news...everything is a rumor until we hear from Disney.

Seeing as Thelazer doesn't go around declaring he is all knowing...in my humble opinion, adds to the worthiness of this thread.
