Thanks

I've read somewhere that Brad Bird, the director of The Incredibles, isn't a huge fan of making sequels. But I've also read that he once told an audience if the script was on par (or better) than the original movie, he'd be in. So, as of now, I don't think there are any plans to make another Incredibles movie. But we can hope that changes.....:)

Not for a while. Probably never. Brad Bird is currently working on Mission Impossible 4. After that, he'll restart work on Disney/Warner's 1906. And after that, he'll probably start a brand new project.

I've heard Brad Bird is warming up to the idea. I'd love to see 1906 happen, but I doubt it ever will.

This may be a project that Brad oversees but doesn't write or direct (much like Lasseter is doing with Cars 2). Out of all of Pixar's movies, The Incredibles is the one that would make the best franchise.

The rumor I'm hearing is that Brad Bird desperately wants to make his proposed mega-budget tragedy/drama film, 1906, about the San Francisco earthquake. Problem is, no studio wants to gamble the fortune it would cost to make it on the film's success. So the rumor goes that Brad Bird is holding the prospect of an Incredibles 2 (which would obviously be a HUGE hit) above Disney's head as leverage for green-lighting his dream film.

Disney would be smart to do it if you ask me. Even if 1906 were to flop (which I doubt, if he could make it as appealing as Titanic), then I imagine the losses could be quickly recuperated, and then some, by a well-written Incredibles 2. Not to mention all the merchandising opportunities.

I think that, of all the Pixar films, The Incredibles lends itself best to a sequel. It's certainly a better choice for a series of follow-up films than Cars, which I think is only getting a sequel because of merchandising - pretty lousy reason to bring the characters back if you ask me. All The Incredibles needs is a new villain to fight - or heck, they could bring back Syndrome somehow; that could work too (he was a great villain with a great motive for his evil - overreaching fanboy devotion turned toxic). I'd love to see more adventures with the Incredibles family - maybe a sequel could even involve the kids growing up, having kids of their own, and those kids having superpowers and needing advice from their still-super grandparents. That could rock!

Looking at what disaster flicks like The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 did at the box office I agree; 1906 and The Incredibles 2 would be a great 1-2 punch for Disney Studios.....

If you need an Incredibles fix, just read the comic books from Boom!. They've been a fantastic continuation of the movie and they're using the villain from the original script drafts as the primary antagonist.

I had no idea they had those. I will try to look for them.
