Just some Mario Kart thoughts since it’s open in Hollywood now and I’m bored at the airport haha.

While I really enjoy the attraction, I think it’s kind of impossible to have great ride the first time. It takes a couple rides to really get the hang of the mechanics. It took me a solid four rides to really get the hang of what I’m supposed to be doing to get consistently high scores. Between the minimally explained mechanics and the handful of secrets scattered around the ride your first ride is going to be weird. Now that I know what to do and what to expect the ride’s grown on me a lot, though I was initially positive of it. It just seems kind of inaccessible to first-time riders, which sucks when the wait times make it really hard to ride more than once.

I highly recommend taking advantage of single rider, assuming USH has it. I did it three of my four rides this trip and it cut the wait by 2/3 every time.

They're running out of movies that their untalented people can remake.

It seems like most of the movies are in at least pre production whether we want them or not.

Just watched the newest Mandalorian, and at halfway through this season, damn is it just completely and utterly mid. It’s not the worst thing ever, but it’s definitely no Andor.

I feel like I notice The Volume in this season way more than I remember noticing it in previous seasons and it easily could be because of the real sets used in Andor pointing it out more, but I’m one of the few people that didn’t mind it’s use in Kenobi but I’m finding it tedious and annoying here.

I haven’t even seen anyone really talking about it and I have no idea if any of you have been watching it, but damn do I feel disappointed by this season.
So while I liked episodes 2 and 5, the rest I agree were mid. I was just holding out hope it would pick up in the 2nd half of the season.

But this last episode wasn't just mid, it felt like a parody.

With 2 episodes left in the season I'm very disappointed with the lack of development. They could still produce a great finale but it wouldn't take away how directionless the rest of the season has been.

I have spoken.

Todays was honestly insulting. Not even bad, but like you said, almost parody. We’re solving a season-wide conflict the way they did was dumb and the fact they used The Volume for what is literally an open field was ridiculous and sloppy.

The most infuriating part though isn’t that it’s bad, it’s that it’s so aggressively mid where the previous two seasons had their flaws but we’re overall really solid. I don’t even know if I care enough to watch the next two in a row or just watch them together in a couple weeks.

Might be my least favorite piece of Star Wars in a long while, and I’m a defender of the sequels and a lover of TLJ so this aggressively mid series is irking me a lot

Ranking my triple feature tonight

1. John Wick Chapter 4- basically a masterpiece. Could possibly be top 3 of the year

2. Air- Phenomenal as well, despite knowing what happens in the end (obviously, I think everyone on earth knows about Air Jordan’s) it held my attention and built up suspense.

3. Super Mario Bros- Fun and better than the typical illumination fare, but honestly I don’t know that I’ll remember much about it by the time the year ends and I’m finalizing my list.

Next week I’ve got a day off so gonna hit Dungeons and Dragons, Paint, and How to Blow Up a Pipeline hopefully

Watched this tonight as well and though I thought the movie was pretty good, aside from that Brian Tyler knocked it out of the park with the soundtrack.

As a Mario fan, I can’t wait to see it tomorrow when I have the time (though I’ve heard mixed things)

I'm just hoping they don't pull the girl power B.S. with Princess Peach. Like Disney has done way too much lately. She isn't supposed to be Ellen Ripley or Sarah Conner from T2. Her privileged butt has been saved by Mario since the 80's.

Super Mario Bros. 2 begs to differ

Finally caved in after being intrigued by various clips from scrolling my FYP on TikTok - which has now been deleted off my phone as it can't be accessed on my university's wifi (wild), and saw Steven Universe. I also saw Steven Universe: The Movie and Steven Universe: Future in the span of these last like five or so days. Wow what a fantastic show, lowkey wished I saw this on the air so I could have the buzz and excitement of seeing all of this story unfold in real time. So many times in the show I was caught off guard by the twists and turns the story took while falling in love with all of the characters, music, art style, and just the universe of Steven Universe. Almost tempted to purchase the games on the switch - but they don't like my kind of thing.
