Theme Park Apprentice Tournament of Champions II, Week 4: Create an all-new theme park to be built on the site of an abandoned park.

I have posted very early with Monstrous Realms. Located on the old Nara Dreamland site in Japan, the new park concerns mythical monsters from throughout history. Admitting to my thought process, it's an attempt to answer "What if Beastly Kingdom were an entire theme park?"

Week 5, the finale, has me concerned, since it's another whole park, burnout grows near, and I am self-selecting the most difficult option for it. So rather than spend additional time on Monstrous Realms fine-tuning stuff like a park-wide hand-drawn illustration, I'll let my still-ambitious proposal stand for itself. Hope you enjoy! :)
Oh Hindley, sometime I wish your parks, your resorts, your freshly imagined ideas would become a reality. As a lover of mythology, I would visit your park if; one; it was real, and two; I had the money to go there.

Phantom. Manor. It's phenomenal. I didn't get the chance to go on BTM sadly.
Oh boy oh boy! Phantom Manor is so good. I'm so glad you can appreciate it. Did you read up the backstory before?:D

POTC is still closed. Space Mountain... I rode it. However, the sound on my train was broken. Why they didn't take it out of commission for a couple hours to fix it, I have no idea. Just an excuse to go again. And the vacation from the group continues because too much prior bad luck on the TGV and homework to get done means non Nice/Monaco/Avignon/Marseilles pour moi
In my eyes, Pirates is the pinnacle of the classic style of Imagineering, and the one in Paris blows the rest out of the water. Shame you couldn't ride it, but a big part of Paris is how beautiful everything is, so I guess it gave you extra time to soak up the surroundings eh?:)
Big Thunder I personally haven't ridden (was under refurbishment last time I went), but it does look to be the best one by far.
Interesting that the Space Mountain audio was off, but honestly, I'm not surprised. What did you think of Hyperspace Mountain overlooking the hiccup?
Enjoy France!
Well now that Disney has fully purchased DLPR they should fix those problems.
Beat me to it!:p
That was my one complaint about the resort: poor maintenance.:bored:

Ratatouille also reveals that Disney does really want to get the resort on its feet. The main park is there: its beauty unrivaled by any Castle park in the world, but the bad show does in fact showcase itself. So I'm definitely excited to see what Disney can do with the resort!

Agreed. When I think of WDW (since it's the only Disney resort I've been to) I think of; for the most part; a nice clean resort with many options to do and not very many parts of the parks aging badly or falling apart. Disneyland Paris on the other hand...

The park is gorgeous. It's a masterclass in how to make a well designed park.

One thing I forgot, new Mickey head is phenomenal in person. Even now, almost in my 20s, the old head freaked me out. The new one is such an improvement.

I'll give them props though, they have improved TREMENDOUSLY from my first visit in 2013 to 2016. Bathrooms were absolutely godawful in 2013, but on the last trip they were more on par with Disney World. The next step is hiring enough cast members to allow the rides simple quick maintenance and the restaurants longer hours.

The great thing about Paris though is in the offseason, it is REALLY the offseason. Walk-on Space Mountain, Pirates, Phantom Manor etc.

All competitors have now posted for Week 4 of the TPA Tournament of Champions II, where we all had to create an original theme park on the land of an abandoned park. Proposals y'all might now enjoy are:

Monstrous Realms (mine), themed to mythical creatures, replacing Nara Dreamland.

The World of the Rainbow Serpent, themed to aboriginal mythology, replacing Wonderland Sydney.

Mountain Park, themed to the world's mountains, replacing an older Mountain Park.

Manga Biblioteca, themed to the Great Books of Western Civilization, replacing AstroWorld.

Timeline Terra, themed to time travel, also replacing AstroWorld.

Enjoy! :)
