Project 7: An Expansion Fit For A Princess:

Mater: Hey everyone! Imagineers have created some amazing things and have shaped Disney Parks as we know them today! Look at these amazing new expansions; Disney’s California Adventure is going through a MASSIVE refurbishment as we speak, The Magic Kingdom’s virtually getting a whole new land! But you have to be good to succeed. And being good requires practice. Luckily for you, this is our second of two practice rounds! And coming out is the Magic Kingdom’s very own power couple! Please welcome Cinderella and Prince Charming!

(Applause; Charming takes Cinderella’s hand and they glide into the room)
Cinderella: Hello, everyone!

Mater: Sorry, your majesties, about that little trip… I understand that the Character Teleport System in Tomorrowland was down for refurbishment…?

Cinderella: That’s quite all right! We just got some help from Fairy Godmother instead. Besides, we’ve been meaning to visit Aurora and Philip’s castle for the longest time.

Charming: It’s just a little small…

Cinderella: Either way, we’d like to give you your next challange.

Charming: You see, Cinderella and I enjoy going on walks all thorough the kingdom… through that quaint little boom town by the river, inside of that… what was it called again? The white cone in Tomorrowland?

Cinderella: I think it was “The Space Mountain” or something…

Charming: Oh, right, right. And we’ve even gone inside of that horrid mansion…

Cinderella: Oh, it wasn’t so bad! I’d say that trip we took through Snow White’s forest was even scarier!

Charming: Well, true… but that’s beside the point… the point is that we just can’t seem to find any new places to go! So we’ve asked the royal financers that the back gate to the castle be opened to visit our friends… they had agreed to open the rest of the kingdom to us, which is all well and good… but it seems that there’s been a problem…

Cinderella: You see, our Kingdom gets a lot of visitors, and it seems that they’re always wanting more rides to go on! I’m quite content with my own carousel myself, yet the only new ride that is being built for our guests is for Ariel… as for the rest of our friends… well, we haven’t an idea of whom else we should invite. So WE were hoping that you might be able to choose one of our Disney friends and create a ride through one of their worlds, so long as it isn’t in the worlds of Aurora or Belle, or Dumbo or Tinker Bell.

Charming: Nor Peter or Pooh or Snow White or Cinderella, of course.

Chiderella: The catch is that you have to remove some land designated to one of our other friends already to put this new ride in… I’m sure they won’t mind, but… oh, I hope it isn’t too much of a chore!

Mater: No worries, Princess. We’ll work our magic, and we’ll have a new ride for your Kindgom’s guests ready for you in no time.

Cinderella: Oh, thank you!

Mater: Cinderella and Prince Charming want us to create a Dark Ride through one of her friend’s worlds. It should be based upon each character’s respective stories. You CAN NOT use: Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Dumbo (Dumbo), Tinker Bell (The Tinker Bell DVD Movie Series), the Old Fantasyland rides ( Snow White[‘s Scary Adventures], Peter Pan[‘s Flight], [The Many Adventures of] Winnie the Pooh) nor Cinderella herself (Cinderella).

CHALLENGE: Create a Dark Ride based on a Disney Classic Movie

Criteria:
-Create an attraction to be placed in the New Fantasyland area.
-Must be based on an unused movie (in Fantasylands) and fit theme of area
-Need: Ride Scene List, Scene Description, Layout of Attraction

Due: Saturday April 3rd, 9pm EST!

Charming: Remember to please the Princess!

Cinderella: Good luck!

Charming: Now, my princess, we have places to go!

Cinderella: Oh! That’s right. We have tea with Aurora while we’re still here in her land…

Charming: … and a luncheon with Ariel over the Paradise lagoon, don’t forget!

Cinderella: Oh, being a princess is very demanding. At least it’s better than slavework! Oh, goodbye everybody! Goodbye!

(They make their grand exit)

Mater: Alright, Imagineers, Let’s see if you’re royal material!

Goofy Brainstormers Project 7 Part 1

The Sword in the Stone
Our goal with this dark ride is to present an experience that will be enjoyable by both adults and children alike. The familiar characters and storyline elements from The Sword in the Stone are timeless and fit easily into the Enchanted Forest and the larger theme of Fantasyland as well. Rather than retelling the story of the movie, as many of the rides in Fantasyland do, we’ve decided to extrapolate from the movie and create a new adventure that is reminiscent of the movie, but also has a life of its own. The animation for this ride would 3-D Computer generation using the art style and coloring of the original movie.

Technology
Using real 3-D, and a ride vehicle system similar to The Simpsons at Universal, but with a dome-like immersive screen similar to the Dragaon’s Treasure in Macau City, we will create a fully immersive and thrilling ride that will add a much needed E-Ticket family friendly thrill to Fantasyland.

Location
While we have no animosity towards Pixie Hollow, we feel that the popularity of the series will be waning and replacing it would be the least impactful to the surrounding land and replace something with a decidedly limited appeal to one with a vast appeal. The ride house would be built as a castle rising out of the forest.

Exterior:

The exterior of the building would be a castle-like in appearance, similar to POTC at DLP. It would be made out of stone with some wood trim and large turrents on each side. There would be a water feature in front of the building, one would have a small island filled with plants there would also be planters on each side of the water. A large stone courtyard would be filled with trees and a large planter. Access to the building would be through a wooden drawbridge over the water. Torches would light up the exterior at night. They would be mounted on walls, and come up from the ground. The sword in the stone in front of the carousel would go into the courtyard, and the show once performed there would return to play every half hour.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01SAM...eature=related

Aerial-http://forums.wdwmagic.com/picture.p...ictureid=13410
Elevation-http://forums.wdwmagic.com/picture.p...ictureid=13411

The stones would not be simply one color, but multi-colored like the castle. Also, there would be a bit more detail than we can show.

Queue:

The queue would be divided into 2 sections:

The first section would be like any other queue. It would have wooden trim and stone walls. The railings would be wooden and large medevil-style chandeliers would hang from the ceiling with flickering "candles".

The second section would be like the breifing room at Test Track. With the same details as the other room, each of the 3 breifing rooms would have an AA Archimedes, and a screen to assist him, to give backstory and the safety instructions for the ride.

Each of the 3 breifing rooms empties into its own similator room.

Act 1- The Classroom

We enter a room with a ride vehicle inside. Wart, an animation on the front screen, tells us we’d better sit down, as Merlin likes to start class on time. Also, sometimes the lessons get a bit hairy, so we’d better take some precaution and strap on our safety harnesses, one time Merlin was teaching his class and Sir Ector went flying over the castle, ever since then we’ve been sure to strap everyone in.

“Merlin, Merlin? I’m all ready for today’s lesson, my chores are done and everything.”

“Well then lad, we’d better begin.” Merlin speaks as a poof of smoke and a flash give way to reveal has just appeared before us on screen. “Well who are all these people lad? You know it’s dangerous to bring friends along on your lesson.”

“I know Merlin, but they wanted to see some real magic, and I kinda promised them they could tag along. Please?”

“Oh all right, but I can’t transform them all into various creatures, we’ll have to think of something else. AHA! I have it, let’s shrink them down!”

“Shrink them down? Are you sure?”

“Absolutely my lad, we’ll just shrink them down and then I’ll cast a spell to connect them to you, that way you won’t get separated. But, before I do, you’d better put on your special spectacles. They will allow your eyes to adjust and see the magic properly. Prepare yourselves; this won’t hurt a bit… WINKITEE DINKITEE SHRINKITEE!”

From this point forward everything switches to 3-D
The room seems to grow around us, Merlin and Arthur now tower over us and an ant walks by in front of us to give us a proper sense of perspective.

“Well hello down there! I’d better transform you lad, so you can join them, Whilrilus Squirellus”

Arthur is transformed into a squirrel and craws towards the ride vehicle.

“Oh boy, you’re going to love this, we’ll be able to dart around the tress and climb everywhere! Just let me know if you spy any girl squirrel’s, I’d like to avoid having to learn THAT lesson again.”

Act 2- The Forest

"Stick close to me lad, I want you, or our friends to get lost."
We are out of the window and onto the branch of a tree. We follow behind Merlin and Arthur, bobbing up and down, nothing to rough.

"Hey Merlin, where are we going?" Arthur bounds in front of Merlin and jumps from branch to branch, we follow, bounding right along with him.

"Now stop all that jumping lad, you'll make your new friends sick. We need to go to the top of the canopy for today's lesson, but be careful, birds sometimes prey on smaller creatures, and I think that your friends would definitely qualify right about now."

We climb higher and higher until we are near the top of the trees and we can see out over the entire kingdom, a castle in the background.

"My lad, I want to teach you about photosynthesis, a very important part of the food cycle."

"Photo-what?"

"Synthesis my boy, Photosynthesis. It's how all of these tree grew to be so tall. You see my lad everything needs to eat, just like a hawk might eat a small mammal, and a squirrel might eat an acorn, the tree that acorn grew on must east, and that is where photosynthesis comes into play."

During this speech there is a hawk flying closer and closer to us, this part might seem boring, but it will only be about 20 seconds in total.

"Merlin, why do I need to know all this?"

"Because it's important you understand the natural order of things, we can't rely on magic to solve all of our powers, or might for that matter, you need to use your brain. Why when I become your age, I should hope that I have more patiences..." Merlin turns his back on us and the hawk comes and grabs Arthur, taking us on a flight with it."

"Merlin help!" We get a few yards away when we here the sounds of Merlin casting a spell.

"Slippery Dippery Grippus Slippus!" Arthur slips through the birds claws and starts plunging right towards a lake. Moments before we hit a bolt of magic transforms Arthur into a fish and he slips right under the water.

"Oh boy, that was fun, but I wouldn't wanna do it again. Are you folks ok?" Arthur asks us. "I'm glad no one got hurt, I guess Merlin was right about these lessons being dangerous. Hey, let's look around and see what we can find down here."

Act 3- The Lake

We follow Arthur through the lake, and a feeling of serenity fills the room. This section is much mellower than the last in terms of ride movement, lots of bobbing slowly up and down, not much in terms of jarring motions, til the end at least.

"Oh boy, look, an old junk yard... This must be where they used to throw their old junk."

We see lots of items, swords, jousting equipment, maybe a few hidden items from other movies, perhaps a clock that looks surprisingly like cogsworth or a bed missing one of it's bedknobs.

This would be a shorter, palette cleansing scene, before the big action sequence.

"Oh look, there's some cheese over there, well, you heard what Merlin said about the food chain, I've gotta eat don't I?"

Arthur swims over and tries to bit the cheese, which vanishes. We see a net slowly rise around us until, it's too late, we are caught.

"Oh no, someone's got us." We are dragged upwards, with Arthur, out of the water, until we are face to face with...

"Madame MIM!" Arthur yells, clearly frightened.

"That's right deary, looks like I've caught myself a really fine supper for this evening. You all look delicious!"

"Let my friends go Mim! I promised I'd keep them safe."

"Oh they'll be safe all right, safe and sound within my belly!"

"Not if I can hep it" Merlin yells, as a frog, hopping out of the water, "Mim, let them go."

"No, I'm hungry, besides... you don't frighten me old man..." Mim starts to transform into a large snake. Dropping the net and freeing us, but leaving Arthur flapping around on the ground.

"Take to the skies boy, get your friends home safely!"

Wingity Dingity Birdio Flightus! Arthur is now a bird and we take off through the forest.

Act 4 The Duel/Chase
Arthur flies straight up dodging branches and limbs. Behind us Mim and Merlin start shifting between different creatures trying to gain the upper hand.

"Ok, I just need to get my bearings... THERE... there's the castle, let's go!"

As Arthur is talking to us, we see the hawk has found us once again and is heading straight for Arthur, who turns and ducks, JUST before the hawk grabs him.

"Not him again, let's hide in the trees." We dive back down to the forest only to see that Mim has transformed into a giant octopus (somewhat reminiscent of Ursula) and has a Fox Merlin wrapped up in her tentacles.
"Oh no, she's got Merlin, we've gotta save him." We fly right at Mim and Arthur starts pecking at the tentacles. She transforms into a giant cat and starts stalking us through the woods.

"Run lad, get back to the castle!" Arthur takes off, through the trees, dodging and darting, we get swiped at by the giant cat, then the hawk, back and forth until we see the castle approaching.

"We're almost there...just hang on lad." Merlin has joined us as an owl and is flying slightly ahead of us, he has turned his head to talk to us and isn't looking where he is going. A giant Mim T-Rex rises up in front of us and manages to catch Merlin as we crash into Mim. We get seperated from Arthur and shoot straight up. At the apex we look down and see that the T-Rex has a giant whale sticking out of it's mouth. Mim dispersers into a puff of pink smoke and Merlin transforms into a monkey and climbs up into the castle. This happens below us as we slowly start falling only to have that darned hawk descending on us... Just as he is about to catch us Arthur sweeps in from the side and reconnects with us and heads straight towards the window. As we fly in Merlin, a human now, gently shuts the window. We hear a loud wooden... thunk.

"Presto Chango, Rearrango!" We are now back normal, facing the way we were before. Merlin opens the window, peels the flattened hawk off the shutter, mutters a spell and the hawk takes off out the window, fully mended."

Act 5- Return to the Castle

"Well lad, that certainly was exciting. Don't worry about Mim, she'll be nursing a sore jaw for weeks, and on top of that I used one of my old tricks to give her quite a bad case of the flu."

"Thanks Merlin, but can you please turn me back into a human again?"

"Why certainly lad, now let's see, Coyus Toyus, Bakto Boys!"

Arthur transforms back into a boy and crashes down onto a table, sending all of the dishes stacked on the end crashing into the wall behind us.

Sir Ector screams from outside the room.

"WARRRTTTT!"

"Oh no Merlin, you'd better get out of here."

"Very well lad, I'll see you soon, goodbye everyone! Higgitus Fearus, Dissapeerus!"

"I don't suppose you folks want to stay around and help me with my chores. You'd better get out of here too. If you do feel like helping out, I'm sure you'll be able to find Archemedes outside, he'll let you know what to do. See you folks later!"

The lights come up and we disembark. We are led out to a shop and a game room containing stations for "Chores" which are really games.

Post Show Shop:
Upon exiting the ride you pass by a small door with "Mim Sweet Mim" inscribed on it. Behind the door is a constant sound of sneezing and coughing.

Presta-Dish-atation
Guests are instructed to help Wart complete his chores by finishing the dishes. Using a wand you must follow the motion commands to “conduct” the dishes to the sink and then stack them on the shelf. If you miss a beat or make a mistake a dish falls to the floor. If you get a high score Arthur shows up and thanks you.

Abraka-Splat-ra
Guests are asked to help Arthur paint a wall by taking a wand and hurling bolts of pain at the wall. Blobs of paint fly from the wand and splatter upon impact.

Gifts Fit For A King
The massive gift shop area is designed to look like part of the old century castle. The walls are pure stone with metal chandeliers and candle holders giving the room light. On display on the far right is the sword supported by two "dragon hands" holding it above guest's heads. One the far left is Archimede's house, where an animatronic Archimedes sits, chastising various guests. Merlin's Spell books and other magical devices are seen in a display case near the exit.

The shop sells various gifts, including; The Sword In The Stone DVD and Bluray, park related items, Sword in the Stone shirts and clothing, magic wands and spell-books, and lots more.

We hope that you like our project and look forward to your feedback.

ROBIN HOOD'S ADVENTURES IN SHERWOOD FOREST- Chip n' Dale's Imagineering Rangers
This ride is a dark ride, retelling the scenes from the animated movie. But, it has a twist, so to speak. This attraction is completely interactive. Similar to Toy Story Midway Mania, but with a complex story and amazing, innovative technology. While some scenes will be shown classic-Fantasyland style, with complex scenery and AA's, some interactive scenes will be on a screen, a la Toy Story Mania.

This attraction will be located in the Fantasy Forest area, near the Tinker Bell area (to establish a real "forest" area.)

Robin Hood's Adventures in Sherwood Forest Dark Ride Scene Description
Queue and Pre-Show - Alan A' Dale projection on a book, just like Hunny Hunt's, singing and telling us the backstory of Prince John and his taxes.
Should use a simplified version of Alan A' Dale's song in the begining

Scene 1
Training and Initiation: Set in Sherwood forest where we have targets on trees

Your vehicle continues into the depths of Sherwood Forest. Suddenly, a figure appears.

Robin: Welcome, recruits, to my home, Sherwood Forest. Now, if we're going to topple Prince John and his team*, you're gonna have to participate in some basic archery training. I have here some targets for you to take a few shots at. Go on!

The riders pull knobs on the back of their mounted interactive crossbows to fire at the targets. Targets will be on trees and other items (some will be 'dummies' (made of random objects/scare crow-like), others are 'weapons' made of available material(catapault with kitchenware) After a minute or so, your vehicle begins to move again.

Robin: Looking sharp, recruits! Looks like your ready. Let's go get that Phony King of England!

Scene 2 Rob From the rich...: Robin Hood and Little John fortune teller scene with Prince John, meanwhile We have to shoot at the gold scattered around the carriage without the guards noticing or else...

The carriage moves into the next scene, where AA's of Robin Hood and Little John are seen, dressed as fortune tellers. They use this disguise to sneak themselves (as well as the riders) into Prince John's traveling tent.

Robin: Ooo-de-lally! Fortune tellers!
Little John: Fortunes, Forcasts, Lucky Charms!
Prince John: Oh my! Fortune tellers!
Sir Hiss: Sire! Sire!
Prince John: Silence, Hiss! You may enter my royal coach.

As Robin enters the tent, you must help Little John collect their treasures. Little John will load up the treasure, and your job is to distract the guards by shooting things (for instance, if a guard is walking towards the back of the cart where Little John is, you can shoot an apple out of a tree, which the guard will run to and eat.) If you are able to do this for a certain amount of time (about 45 seconds), you, Robin and Little John are able to escape. If you don't, Robin and Little John escape, but you do not, but they promise to save you.

Ride Scene 2-1) Caught!: We have to run away and we have to shoot at trees to make obstacles for the guards chasing us. there will be two AA guards running at the carts as they back out. While in camp, shoot at barrels and other cargo to trip them up. shooting at the entrance of the tent will cause it to fall on them, the most effective way to get away. while in the forest, branches and moss/vines will be your help. There will also be side screens with projected guards and obstacles, similarly.

Ride Scene 2-1a) Caught and Caputred: If we score poorly on the obstacles, we end up being caught (two AA guards will appear on the side of each captured carraige and escort you back to the tent) and sent to jail or so we think... John will order his men to take you prison; however, he realizes that you will work better as bait, and you are taken back to his tent. the captured teams will witness the scene where john will discusss his plan to capture Robin with Sir Hiss, and then they will be used in the archery competition to draw out robin hood.

Ride Scene 2-2) ...Give To the Poor: Once we successfully steal the gold from Prince John, we head into Nottingham and give the town's people our loot. While any of the captured teams are in the other scene, the successful teams are drawn into this scene, where Little John and Robin AA's toss out gold. There will be a small intermediate section, where Robin and some merry men discuss the plan to rescue the captured camrades, and then leads to the next...

Scene Three- The Archery Competition Shooting Contest: Prince John holds an archery competition with our captured friends, we decide to join to hopefuly set them free.

After you've either been captured or succesfully delivered the stolen gold to the poor, you will end up in this scene. The carriages that were captured were forced to join the competition, while the free carriages join in, to attempt and rescue them. The competition starts:

Prince John: Let the competition begin! Carriage 1, fire at the target!

Carriage 1 fires, the closer the shots to the bullseye, the more points earned. This is done 3 more times for the other cars. Once everyone has shot, the Sheriff will shoot. These will be standard targets on large bullseyes.

Sheriff: Bullseye! Let's see which one of you can top that!
The sheriff (and later robin) will be shooting 'arrows' at the targets, that will react to them.

The car moves on to the next scene.

Scene 4- Chaos at the Archery Competition Chaos at the Archery Competition!: Just like in the movie, all goes awry and chaos ensues, considering there are 4 ride vehicles on the course at each time, 2 vehicles must shoot at guards while 2 must shoot at balloons, looking for Sir Hiss. This battle could end in two ways:

Robin Hood (disguised as Stork): I'll take a whack at it!
AA sidles up and shoots.
Robin hits a direct bullseye.

Sheriff: Lucky shot.

Sheriff shoots another bullseye. The two begin to battle it out, bullseye after bullseye. Then, Little John appears to the side, disguised as a duke.
he whispers to teh guests in their carraiges:

Little John: Hey! Look, if Robin's gonna win this competition, we need to get that meddlin' Sir Hiss out of the way. Last I heard, he was flying around attached to a balloon. Be careful poppin' those balloons though, you might attract too much attention.

Little John walks off. The riders all begin to do so, when the two vultures, Nutsy and Trigger, appear in a nearby tree.

Nutsy: Sir Hiss told me that 'ol stork is Robin Hood in disguise.
Trigger: Really? Let's get him.

Now Nutsy and Trigger begin to circle around the field (keep in mind the competition is still going on between Robin and the Sheriff) as Friar Tuck comes up.

Friar Tuck: Here's an idea, Merry Men. Carriages 1 and 2, continue to look for Sir Hiss. 3 and 4, try and get those vultures out of here!

The riders begin to fire at Nutsy and Trigger. Trigger will first fly away after being shot at enough, followed by Nutsy. Whoever foils the villain's scheme first, "wins" (doesn't get captured.)

Robin Hood is unmasked by the Sheriff, and is captured. Little John holds Prince John hostage, who lets Robin go, and the duo escape to the forest. But, the Prince is outraged. He arrests citizens left and right for insubordination. The two "winning" carts, escape, while the other two are imprisoned. This time losing guests are escorted to the prison, and the others escape into the wood.

Scene 5- The Rescue

Ride Scene 5a) Jailed: We are captured by Prince John along with the citizens of Nottingham for our insubordination. (We see an AA performance of the song "Not in Notthingham") But all is not lost... In this scene the guests will be escorted into two 'pens' (seperated by a wall, but in the same prison). We will see the seen as mentioned before, participated in by the AA's present of the citizens of Nottingham, dispersed around the guests. On the other side of the prison gates/bars/ barriers, we see guards patrolling and making fun of the captured citizens.

Ride Scene 5b) Victory!: If you escaped the earlier brawl, Robin and Little John instructs us that we have to go back and save our friends and at the same time put a stop to Prince John once and for all!
If you had escaped from being captured last scene, then you have escaped to the forest (while the other team is taken to prison.) Robin Hood and Little John brief you on the rescue mission:

Robin: Alright, here's the plan. We are going to rescue the other Merry Men first. Then, they will come with me to Prince John's Castle and help me retrieve the gold. You will stay with Little John and help free the other townspeople. Let's go!

Ride Scene 6: Rescue: the 2 free ride vehicles rescue the 2 captured ones. Now each must have 2 tasks: 1 team must free the town's people and another must go help Robin steal the gold from Prince John's tower.

The carriage enters the prison, (they will be on the other side, attacking the guards seen previously by the captured guests) There are two guards that need to be defeated, then the jail cells need to be shot at to open and release the other two carriages (there will be targets on the locks that must be shot at a few times to open. the doors will then spring open, and our guests will shoot out). They then leave the scene. **

Ride Scene 7a): The big screen with the RHino's charging at the courtyard while we let the prisoners escape.

The other two continue through the prison, shooting at cages and letting the townspeople free. As they exit the prison, two charging rhino guards come towards the cars, and in order to be stopped you need to shoot down trees/roped cargo/flags(hangings) to deter them. After this is done twice, you are able to escape.

Picture: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/album.php...ictureid=13395

**Meanwhile, the other team is with Robin, shooting at bags of gold. Then, the Sheriff enters:

Sheriff: Robin Hood and his Merry Men, you are under arrest!
Robin: I don't think so Bushel Britches!

A swordfight begins. Then, Robin shouts:

Robin: Get out of here!

The car speeds out of the castle, while riders shoot at doors and guards. Once they are outside the castle, they are "safe." The two other carriages join the current ones.

Ride Scene 7b): The Burning Tower scene where we shoot at water and obstacles to help Robin escape.

Then, the Sheriff is seen running from the castle, sets it on fire (as guests leave, they see an AA in distance tossing/laying fire on teh castle). Robin is seen at the top of the castle:

Robin: Help! Shoot at those barrels of water!

The riders shoot at multiple water barrels, which douse the fire, and Robin is able to escape. The castle, however, is destroyed.

Ride Scene 9): The Finale
Riders enter the final scene of the attraction, which takes place in Sherwood Forest. On the right side of the scene, Robin Hood and Maid Marian are getting married by Friar Tuck, with Little John and Lady Cluck standing beside their best friends. On the left side are the AA citizens of Nottingham, cheering them on. The riders are told by Little John to shoot at trees, which in turn creates a "firework" effect of fireflies.
As sort of a "bonus scene", Alan-a-Dale reappears, telling what happened after the events of the ride. He says:
Alan-a-Dale: Well, looks like they lived happily ever after. But Prince John and his cohorts didn't. When King Richard returned from the Crusades, he pardoned Robin and John for their crimes, and threw the villains in prison. So, thank you, recruits, for all your help. Oo-de-lally, oo-de-lally, oo....
He continues to sing as the carriage returns to the unload area. As you exit the ride, trees with large screens inside of them displays the rider's scores, and announces the winning carriage.

the ecorting guards from the side (maybe really low tech AAs. will come from the side of teh cart path, catch up with captured carts, latch on, and walk them to prince john)
Later Planning by john and merry men, so new scene for robin/little john
(prince john may be new room with scene, so new AAs with Hiss)

Ride Scene 3)
Sheriff AA
(the sheriff and robin will be connected to hoses, that shoot colored(by light/coloring, most likely) water at high pressure at two special Targets that will soak up and recycle the water, and will react by spraying 'dust' (water mist) back for each shot)
Crowd/Audience (Major characters as AAs: Prince John, Maid Marion, etc; the rest can be projected on a screen behind)

Ride Scene 4)
Robin AA (see above for effect)
Little John AA
Nutsy/trigger AAs
screens with balloons and sir hiss to be shot at

Ride Scene 5a) Jailed:
Scene with Nottingham Citizens AAs (musical scene)
when near prison doors, see gaurd AA's

Ride Scene 5b) Victory!:
Merry Men AA's (robin, little john, etc)

Ride Scene 6:
guards in prison to be shot (AA)
doors will have targets, wil have countdown clocks for each shot (when shot set amount of tiems, reacts) they will either unlock, or disconnect parts, allowing the doors to move.
doors will be eitehr pressure(hydro/pnuematic) loaded or spring loaded, and pop open when locks broken

Ride Scene 7a):
mixture of screen projections and real targets/ guard AAs (as before) to be shot at, much like the escape scene before

other team will continue shooting the doors and locks (same mechanisms)
guard AAs (as before)
Townspeople AAs (who pop out of the doors and cheer as each is opened)

Ride Scene 7b):
there will be several AAs: Sheriff, Robin, possibly Prince John
there will be a mix of real and fake fire
in the real scene, a mix of pyro technics and water fountains (in the barrels) the fire and water will be timed. each successive shot will douse more water (for each shot, the fire will decrease), and it will take a certain amount to douse each flame. they must act fast tho, the fire will flare again otherwise.

there will also be some smaller screens with a similar shooting setup, just by effect screeen

Ride Scene 9): Finale:
AAs for each townsperson, major characters:
Robin
Little john
maid marion
etc

trees dispersed around will be shot by targets among teh trees (shown by objects hung on tehm with painted targets: pots, pans, helmets, etc)
screens behind will shoot fireworks
from the trees will be mist or droplets lit from behind to look like firefly 'fireworks'

I like your project, I think this will be a good round!

Also, I miss Chrony and her beautiful illustrations! Stitch man, you have some serious talent as well.

I have just gotten home, and recieved no votes so far (Trever, Disneyson, and Hack), which is understandable.

If you can please send me your votes by 10am tmrw morning that would be great.

Thanks

Mater

PS Hopefully i can get the new project posted tmrw, if not it will be on Monday. (understandable b/c of the holiday)

I havent recieved ANY scores from any of the judges, SO i will try to reveal winner tonite (if not tmrw afternoon)

NOTE: Both attractiosn were great, BUT either really seemed like a "classic" dark ride, which is what i was looking for. One was closer to a dark ride that i was hoping for.

We'll just wait and see.

I was worried about that, though in fairness, both ARE dark rides, just using different technology to accomplish the end result of being transported into the world of our story. I hope the fact that we used different means of accomplishing this goal doesn't detract from the overall submission. :)

Its ok, it just wasnt what i was expecting. And yes they are bot dark rides, techincally, just not what i was expecting..

NOTE: I havent mde my choice yet,as both are really good.

Lucky for both of you teams that BOTH teams didnt do your 'typical' dark ride, you really want me to think dont you?!? :)

Happy Easter!

Alright, I've sent in my vote to Mater, so I suppose I can give my comments now. I know, on time - what a shocker.

Goofy's Brainstormers - Fractal514

I can think of one word to sum up your entire project this time - unorthodox. Don't take that as an insult, though, I really liked the project. I was worried that one of the teams would take the "Pinocchio's Daring Journey" route, and tell the story word-for-word. You guys obviously understand that the point of a dark ride is to give guests a unique experience, and not a "book report". Good job on that. A little critique, however: I don't understand the logic behind the simulator, as far as the story goes. I mean, I see that it's crucial to the ride system, but you didn't give any explanation as to why the riders had to be contained in simulator pods.

Chip 'n' Dale Imagineering Rangers - Figmntal95

Similar to the other entry in this project, you guys took the unorthodox route as well. And I must say, the attraction turned out beautifully. I'm not allowed to base my vote on who had the better pictures, so I won't go in-depth on that. With that said, Chrononymous and stitchcastle - nice work! I really love the idea that your experience would potentially be different each time you take a trip into Sherwood Forest, making for many return trips to this attraction - an idea that doesn't always pan out in some of the things that Disney does. Overall, very nice dark ride.

It's unfortunate that we have to have a loser, because both of these rides are very good. Whichever team ends up being defeated, it won't have been by much. Congratulations to everyone!
