Mater: Welcome back for another project! Now, as we all know, one of the best things about WDW is the fact that you’re ALWAYS immersed in the world of Disney. Even when going from place to place you’ve got many modes of transportation to choose from, be it a monorail or one of the numerous Disney Busses. Today, you’re going to have to create one of your own UNIQUE, ORIGINAL and FUN new modes of transport. It’s gotta connect EVERYTHING; Parks, Resorts, Downtown Disney, and the Water Parks. This is NOT a story challenge, though; we want to se if you can think of something… a little unconventional. Oh, and in keeping with the new “green” WDW, we ask that you make the transportations earth friendly. We would have had Rafiki come to explain it, considering he’s the head of Conservation Station, but…

Walt Disney World WEDWay

Our transportation system would be the Walt Disney World WEDWay System. It would connect the entire resort. The cars would be propelled with electro-magnets and lighting and screens would be battery operated. the batteries would reveive a slight charge while stopped on a magnet,or as it passes over one,through a conatctor that touches the magnet. The system would have a top speed of 40 MPH. The name,partially borrowed from the original name of the TTA,which was the WEDWay Peoplemover pays homage to Walt Disney as WED stands for Walter Elias Disney. This is a fitting homage because it brings WDW closer to Walt's original vision. This would be less harsh on the environment than gas fueled boats or busses,and would use less or the same amount of electricity as the Monorail.

Layout-
The system connects each park, resort, and Downtown Disney.There would be a loop that goes between the four parks. From each park would be one or two spurs that would be straight tracks that would go to and from the resorts, water parks, and other attractions. When the vehicle is sent out, a CM selects on a touch screen at the station the destination told to them by the guests. This information is transmitted to the vehicle,which in its controlling software is able to read this info and take itself along the track,going past unneccessary stops and spurs. This could pose a problem with vehicles coming too close together,so a system of sensors would be installed that slows cars that come too close to each other. Also,since all mini golf and golf courses are at a resort or water park,these would be acessed by the stop at the resort or water park it is closest to.

Station-
The station would be located just outside of EPCOT. When entering the transportation station central hub you pass through several futuristic "gates". Along the sides of the elevated walkway which leads to the top of the station are several posters for various destinations along your trip. The roof is lit up by an LCD screen showing cool images above guests heads such as images of WDW parks and a fictional city of the future,loosely based off Walt's origianl EPCOT. The track itself would be the white curved pillar design like the WEDWay in TL. The stations at resorts and parks would be low to the ground,to prevent visual intrusion,an would be decorated to fit the theme if each resort and park. (MK would be MSUSA,OKW would have pastels etc....)

Vehicle:

Design-The vehicle would be a galss enclosed cab with a fiberglass body. The doors would slide open similar to the monorail,except would swing to the outside. There would be 3 rows of seating,each capable of having 2 people for a total of 6 people to a cab. The outside would be silver,blue and red-the system's colors. The interior would be blue and silver. The dots you see on the outside at the bottom are lights. Windows would be tinted blue,red or silver,just like the DL Monorail window tints.

Touch Screens-Each of the rows would have one touch screen in front of it to offer deatils about the visitor's fianal destination. When not used they would display the system's logo. Here is what it would be like. (Note everything is selected on a resort-wide map)



Theme Parks-
Guests would first access the park of their choice by selecting it from a resort map. Each park's home screen would have a photo of the parks icon in the corner with a with a menu below for Attractions,Dining,a general Photo Gallery and What's New. These things could also be accessed by a map in the middle where specific lands could be chosen,then specific attractions or dining locations. Details about each attraction,wait times,pictures would be avalible,as would images,menus and pricing for each dining location.

Water Parks-
If a water park were selected, guests would choose an attraction for descriptions and images.

Downtown Disney-
If Downtown Disney were selcted,guests could choose West Side,Pleasure Island or Marketplace. Then they would choose a restaurant for menus or images,and a shop for a description

Resorts-
Once a guest selected any resort,theming information,recreation and entertainment information,and dining menus and theming,as well as a map of the resort will be avalible.

Weather would also be avalible.


Narration- The narration would be very simple,for the most part it would point out sights along the way nad announce coming stops.

Good afternoon, and welcome aboard the Walt Disney World WEDWay System. You destination today is Disney's Boardwalk Inn, a Deluxe Disney Resort located on the glistening waters of Crescent Lake. Walt Disney World Maglev SystemThis futuristic style of transportation truly connects everything in the entire resort. Our environmental aspects:
-Eliminates need for buses and cars, reducing fossil fuel intake.
-Maglev trains run with electric motors.
-Each individual mini-transportation also utilizies electric motors.
Red Line
The ride line takes you to the Magic Kingdom Area:
-Magic Kingdom Park
-Disney's Polynesian Resort
-Disney's Contemporary Resort
-Disney's Grand Floridian Resort
From The Red Line Station:
-Fort Wilderness Campgrounds

Richard Petty's Driving Experience, Shades of Green and other Golf Courses should be accessible by another form of transportation. One leg can take you to Shades of Green with Magnolia, Palm, and Oak Trail
Another can take you to Richard Petty's (maybe just the MK tram can), and then a third leg can take you to Osprey Ridge and Eagle Pines. Or, since this will probably take place in the future, we can just put the Four Seasons resort as a destination.

And the ferries can also take guests to areas around the MK area. Including the former Discovery Island, now LOST Island.

Purple Line
This can take you to the EPCOT area.

At Disney's Hollywood Studios, "The Hollywood that Never Was", there are multiple amazing shows and attractions. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a 13 story drop through a haunted elevator shaft that just might launch you into the Twilight Zone. Also, there's Fantasmic!, a nightly fireworks show, where you can watch Mickey battle it out with various Disney villains. Also at Disney's Hollywood Studios is Pixar Place, an area of the park dedicated to the movies of Pixar. There, you'll find Luxo's, an upscale dining restaurant featuring influences from some of their movies.

Please note that if you are traveling to Disney's Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Courses, they can be accessed from the Studios' front gate by a Red Trolley Line.

Ok, i havent heard from TrevorA, and i know you all are anxious so im going to do what we were going to do

Cutting to the chase, im sorry, but stitchcastle you are eliminated from the competition. It seems that you didnt do AS much as chronymous and figmntal, as it seems figmntal did most of the ideas on this project, and chronymous did the drawings (even though she was sick), and it seems you didnt do anything. Once again im sorry, you are eliminated... Hope to see you in Project Sunshine coming June 2010!
