So continue discussion whatever you want, I just wanna let everyone know I'm going to go back and compile all of the challenge ideas into one post.

I was going to set up a poll - however the maximum amount of slots to fill in a poll is 10...and we have a lot more challenges than that...so I'm going to give you two options, whatever you all want we shall do.

I can compile them all together, and you can just vote for your top ones publicly in the discussion thread with a post. Or, I could go individually to each of you so you can cast your votes privately.

It doesn't matter to me either way...whatever you all are most comfortable with. :)

You can use straw poll or poll monkey.

Alrighty so this is the complied list from going back through the thread. If I missed anything please just add it on.

Basically how I'll sort this is the larger challenge ideas (like build a whole land/show/hotel/etc) - I will put in the main imagineering challenge category...because those are the challenges that will require the most amount of time and teams.

For smaller challenges, like a maze or queue, I'll put those in mini-challenge category, so they can still be part of the comp, but take less time to complete.

Below I just quoted all of them in the order I found them, but for the poll I will categorize them so it's all clear and simple.
From how much fun Disneyland Brazil's nighttime shows were for me to create, how about creating a new nighttime entertainment package (parade/show/fireworks) for one of the parks? And glad to be here. A childhood dream come true.

Maybe we have to create a miniland (at least 1 E-Ticket, 1 other attraction, 1 restaurant, 1 shop), but the catch is it has to be based on a non-Pixar Disney animated film from 2000 - 2009. Just WDA and can be in any park

- Completely redesign Disney Quest in Orlando to fit the Disney Springs Theme. You could either modernize the Disney Quest concept inside or demolish the building and do something else with it.

- Finish the DCA makeover by redesigning Hollywood Land. The only trick is you have to use the Hollywood theme. No Marvel allowed! :p

- What if Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party was actually frightening? The task would be to take the Magic Kingdoms Halloween event and crank the scare factor up to 11!

- Design an E-ticket for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for Universal Studios Hollywood in the place of Dragon Challenge.

I think it could be fun to do something for Knott's Berry Farm. I don't think that we've ever done anything there on these boards.

Design a final phase for New Fantasyland?
I'm gonna give free reign on that one. Do pretty much anything you want as long as it fits the rest of the expansion.

-Hotel between Contemporary and TTC that cannot be something Disney had planned to build, but ended up not doing it.

-New part of New Fantasyland (like if IASW was to be relocated to the speedway a New Fantasyland sub land could go in it's place. Ex. Frozen could go there with a new ride, but as it is in Epcot you would have to decide to use a go to movie or something else, and it doesn't have to be themed to just one thing.

-A new vehicle design that can use tech from other rides like trackless etc., but it has to be new and showcased in a non ip new Tomorrowland ride.

-A new continant land for AK (maybe cut a bit of Dinoland And put it between Dinoland and ee & and possibly a complete Dinoland overhaul as well. I just don't know if that's be feasible in 1 week).

-A new land for the HWS overhaul that can be themed to an ip, but at least one part of the land cannot be from the movie and you must create it from the universe. Ex Monsters Inc. you can use "Monsters Inc." but for other parts of the land it must be completly new.

-Creating a completly new park icon, the overall theme for the park, and what lands it would have. The only in detail thing would be the icon. (Just love that one).

-New hub for HWS.

-New pavilion for Epcot.

-New coaster for Epcot.

-Frontierland expansion

-Pirates themed fondue restaraunt
-Artic or Antartica themed land for Rafiki's planet watch.

- Redesign KidZone at USF without using Nintendo.

- Design the main ride for Tokyo Disney Seas Frozen expansion.

- Design Shanghai Phase 2 (maybe for the finale)

What if you made a whole land based on an opening day Magic Kingdom attraction? So instead of just having Peter Pan's Flight or something...you make a whole Neverland or something like that.

This idea reminds me kinda of the new Jon Faveru movie that based on the Jungle Book response, will probably be made - which is a film called the Magic Kingdom where the attractions come to life and make these sprawling landscapes..something different!

I would love to have to design a park based on music, I think that could be really interesting. Like a Disney/Universal version of Hard Rock Park.

-Design ride for Star Wars Land's First Order vs. resistance, but not the Millennium Falcon Ride.

How about we are tasked to make a map for a complete overhaul for Walt Diseny Studios. It sounds ambitious, but most stuff would be kept. For instance TOT would for sure stay, but Armageddon would go. Then we also have to create a never before seen land to go with it, (Marvel?) it may be too much for a 1 week competition, but this one would require team collaboration. Amongst the group we could decide who does what. Ex. 1 person does the East side of the park 3 people do the new land 1 person redesigns the central area, and another does the West side. Just a thought and I think it could work with a couple of concept arts, but a map of it all. Any thoughts?

Another idea I have is for a KUKA Arm ride where it can be attached to an ip, but maybe an extra point for a non ip or very good creativity, and we have the creative freedom to do it anywhere in any Disney park in the world. I hear many times throughout the forums that people want to have it very badly, so I think it would be really cool if we have to use it for a ride, but have extreme creative freedom.

I had a thought to turn back the clock to 2006, have Disney get the rights to Harry Potter, and design a land for DHS!

But also RMs idea is good too! I remember someone posted if they needed to know Universal HP lands for the comp, so we gotta try and make the challenges so that even people not familiar with it can have a good time and contribute!

I just watched "The Jungle Book". Maybe some sort of Jungle Book-themed challenge?

Here's my list of suggestions for now!
  1. Design a guest interactive Hot Dog/ice cream stand for the Animal Kingdom (@spacemt354 lol)
  2. Redesign a Dark Ride as a Coaster and a Coaster as a Dark Ride (For example, Peter Pan's flight as a coaster and Space Mountain as a dark ride)
  3. Add a new scene (script and all) to the Carousel of Progress
  4. Change the Monorail into an interactive attraction with a storyline, characters, and animatronics that plays out as guests go from park to park to resorts
  5. Design a new restaurant (no rules, just complete originality! Something simple like this to give contestants a lot of freedom to design something new!)

How about designing a interactive queue for one ride at each Disney world park.

-create a boat ride for AK similar to Discovery River boats but one that actually works. Enhanced AA's. Maybe something with a jungle cruise vibe
-create a Rare Character spot in each of the parks to meet lesser seen favorites
-add a new stop on the AK train to Rafiki's planet watch
-bring a ride to WDW from another Disney park- decide where it will go and what changes will be made to reflect our culture
-redo the Transportation and Ticket Center
-pretend DHS was still MGM and a working studio. How could the park have grown in that direction?
-overhaul a menu at a WDW favorite restaurant
-expand the monorail
-create a park opening show similar to MK's but for Epcot and/or AK
Challenge Idea: How about designing a land or mini land around the iconic Disney afternoon (Gummi Bears, Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, Goof Troop, Tail Spin)??????
An idea - how about a challenge where you are tasked with retheming California Screamin'?

-We create a completly new pavilion for Future World that is set to open in 2032, and by this time all of a Future World is fixed. It would have at least 1 ride, and 1 restaurant.

-An Expansion to any MK land.

-Redesign of the aesthetics of Future World. Ex. The walkway from Spaceship Earth to FW Plaza, FW Plaza, the many walkways of the side of FW with Mission Space etc.

-How to get people in and out of MK more effectively without removing Main Street, and also fixing or replacing the Tomorrowland Terrace.
Ex. Make a walkway behind MS, at a second story to it. Make a side entrance to Tomorowland etc.

-Add a new attraction to Main Street, or the hub.

-Retheme Stitch without allowing for the use of any Alien, and the theaters must be reused. (as much as I want to see that happen it could be a pretty big challenge not to allow any Aliens)

-Pretend HM was never built, you must decide where in the park to put it, but it cannot go where the speedway is, it must also be a mini land and not use an omnimover system. So basically a Haunted Mansion themed land, but besides the ghosts you can pretty much do anything with it.

Build a real, livable, Hogwarts castle.

What about a Fantasmic update/replacement challenge?

Would it be considered "Imagineering" to design a new dish for an existing Disney restaurant? Has that been done before? Maybe that should be its own seperate competiton called "Iron Chef Imagineering"

Maybe redo the back lot tour/area to save it at studios

Forgive me if this has been suggested already, but what about adding a secondary transportation system between Epcot and DHS, like a people mover -- less major construction needed than a monorail... could stop at all the Epcot resorts on the way to DHS; would probably be faster than the boat... but the challenge would be how best to integrate into the existing environment so it makes sense? What kind of design would one use so that it looks like it belongs in so many different places (International Gateway, DHS entrance, Dolphin, etc?)

I could see one where we rewrite (or at least outline) a Disney attraction-related movie that flopped, and then reinspire the attraction based on our story. (Haunted Mansion, Tomorrowland...)

I've always dreamed of an UP ride with advanced AA reflecting the more new technology with face construction and skin textures! Could be fun considering the amount of human and non human characters! (Mr. Fredrickson, Russel, Doug, Kevin, etc.) I've always imagined a ride that was both a dark ride and an outside ride. I dunno, could be fun! Many different story lines to pursue! Kind of specific, so maybe a broader challenge idea like create an outdoor/indoor ride based on a movie disney hasn't majorly involved in the parks?

  1. The ultimate hedge maze. For my fellow Disney History nerds, you may remember the original concepts for the Beastlie Kingdom in Animal Kingdom included the Quest for the Unicorn, which was to be an interactive maze with animatronics and such. Let's revive this idea! (If we don't use it for this competition, I may take this on as a personal project)
  2. Some sort of coaster/dark ride through a factory/industrial setting? Eh, this may be too vague.
  3. Give a temporary Star Wars overlay to a classic Disney ride.
  4. Combine two already existing Disney rides/attractions into one ride/attraction that highlights both! The more polar opposite the two attractions the better! For example, It's a Small World starring Aerosmith (Rock n Roller Coaster).

Don't. Ever. Read. Wicked.
Well I have the book already, and all mr friend sin school have like it be.
It will scar you for life. It is nothing like the show, nothing resembling the tone of Wizard of Oz. It is dark, it is awful. It is miserable. I have never hated a book so much in my entire life.
I'm well aware it is nothing like the show which is why I'm reading it.
Reading isn't my strong suit whatsoever. :p This year, we've read Unbroken for summer reading, a bunch of short stories, A Raisin in the Sun, Romeo and Juliet, Lord of the Flies (which I loved) and A Separate Peace. I'm pretty sure we're also reading A Tale of Two Cities in a few weeks. So many books :p.
Reading is one of mine strong suits. Along with History which isn't much different from Reading. I'm never really sure what science is about, but I pass.

As I overhead my teacher talking she was trying to figure out how to work in one last book. Of course thanks to testing lasting till the last week of school she couldn't fir much in. So the mythology section of English has been cut for this year. The last book I will be reading for this class is Romeo & Juliet. Followed by watching the films To Kill a Mockingbird, Romeo & Juliet,The Joy Luck Club, and 1984.

To Kill A Mockingbird was pretty dull, in my opinion. But, once you really analyze it, you come to appreciate it. :) I read it last year, along with Animal Farm and Fahrenheit 451.

I forced myself to finish thinking there might be some payoff at the end, but it was just miserable dreck...which makes it even more amazing that the show is so good using that source material.

Friends don't let friends read Wicked.
Some of the other Oz books have some dark moments and scenes, like cannibalism, attempted murder, lobotomy, and even body as well as head snatching.

As a last second thing here are a few more ideas:

-Completely Redesign decks 11 & 12 on the Disney Fantasy.

-Design Disney's potential 'Discovery Cove' type of park, or a smaller than average water park that cannot have a Volcano as its icon.

-Overhaul The Great Movie Ride

-Add a new show where the circle of life is in Epcot

-Make the peoplemover an actual good ride (could have dark ride scenes instead of the stationary robots etc.)

-Design a new restaurant for Main Street

-A transportation system around Future World

-A transportation ride to and from Africa to Animal Kingdom Lodge plus add 50% more rooms in a new wing

-Overhaul Disneyland Paris' Discoveryland

-Add a non ip land to Hollywood Studios as phase 3 instead of possibly Indy, Monsters Inc. or The Incredibles (Ex. how Paradise Pier is to California Adventure)

-Make Disney world more connected (Monorail lines etc.) within reason and limitations (Ex. the amount of land allowed to be used). Kind of like the original Epcot, but not quite ambitious.

One last one ;)
Use the same dome shape design for a pavilion in FW as The Health Pavilion used (forgot the name), can have a show building extended out like Body Wars.
So basically we have to implement that to design a new pavilion to whatever we want, so it gives us more creative freedom as to where something can go within the pavilion.
