I think it's either new or a Florida thing. They make a really big deal out of it, and then the exam is really easy.

Totally agree. They pack you with a huge EOC study guide, and then the exam is a cakewalk.
I had a nice teacher, and she tried to make it interesting. We even read a non Civic book during the Reading/Math finals so it wouldn't be as bad. But Civics did teach me many things, which I have quickly forgotten...

My teacher was nice for the first semester, then went all alpha for the second.. Not fun times.

It's not a Florida thing because of Common Core being adopted by all the public schools in the nation so it will be easier to transfer out of state to a school in lets say California. It should be similar education than what was in Florida.

That program is also what keeps stopping the added EOCs of Chemistry, World History, PE, Theater, Art, Music, and every single class possible. How long this will work? I hope until after I graduate from high school because I don't want to deal with taking an EOC for PE...

We already have EOC's for our classes.. We call them exams.
I visited the University of Miami

It was really chill:cool: Everyone seemed very relaxed

It is Miami after all..

I meant FSA style EOC, not regular EOC. My mentality has me connect EOC directly to the FSA program which is what the state wants to enroll out. Which I find ridiculous because do we really need to be stuck at a computer for two hours taking a test on PE?

I don't think I've gotten an EOC study guide since Seventh grade for Algebra 1. It would've helped for the Algebra 2 EOC considering it's offtopic contents.

*sigh*

The sad part is I actually had to take online PE exams in elementary school.. That sucked. :(

And then they leave us with an FCAT for Science. They make no sense

:cyclops: Glad I escaped that, the last time I was in Elementary school there was just the two FCATs. And maybe Science? Don't remember if I took that in 5th grade.

I mean I guess if you signed up FVS for PE it makes sense that you'll expect it all to be online, but in elementary ?

Yep, and there were exams for Music and Art too.. :cyclops:

I took the Science exam in 5th grade.. And maybe 4th? o_O

I had to take a practice FCAT science this year too... I think it's preparation for the FSA Science I have next year...

Is there an FSA for 8th Grade AP Physics?
Your in AP Physics, or AP Physical Science? There's a big difference :cyclops:

Either way no there's no FSA ever for any AP class. You get a special different exam for any AP.

I remember that half the time I know nothing of what there talking about in Science, and yet I pull off fives whenever I take a science FCAT/FSA.

8th grade Science FCAT, I took it this year.

8th grade AP Physics? Thats a thing? I just took "8th Grade Science" because it was my only option, I know some schools have Earth-Space Science for 8th graders though.

I guess it depends on county? Guessing you weren't in Miami Dade?

All I know is that in Music the final grade was being able to play Ode to Joy on a recorder (which I barely did)
and in Art was to write the alphabet in calligraphy. Which to this day I have my calligraphy pen from that class because I never finished the packet.

It might not be AP, but I know there's an Honors Physics class at my school that counts as a high-school credit.

It's probably not AP... Would there be an EOC though?

Science is so easy.. Probably the only thing I had trouble with was the types of fault lines.

I feel like he means Ap Physical Science (aka Earth-Space) which I took in 7th grade. In my middle school I had Biology instead of 8th Grade science.

If there's fault lines it prob Physical science (aka Earth Space), and to answer your question based on my experience there is no EOC or AP exam, or any of that. Just a standard final.

I'm in Hillsborough County in the Tampa area.

The werid part about my music class in elementary school was that my entire five years I was there, I only had to play an instrument for three or so times, but that was it. o_O

And this is why my electives next year are Spanish 1 and probably Student Assistant. :p
