The Gurgling Suitcase at Old Key West

The Gurgling Suitcase seems to be one of the least talked-about WDW resort lounges, but when I do hear about it, the talk is always positive. I'd like to make my way over there on our next visit. For those who have been there, what sort of drinks and appetizers do they serve? I've heard that they do serve food, but nobody seems to have a menu posted.

I never had the food... I just remember it was my birthday and the guy bartender that was from either NJ or NYC made me some super strong purple drink, and it was amazing.

Gurgling suitcase is a great spot! Now it is super small but my last trip to Old Key West i had a great time with staff and people staying at the resort! Bartenders made some knockout drinks! But i dont remember food being offered here, although you could just pick up food from Olivias next door and bring it in

Thanks, guys! We've got a dinner reservation at Olivia's on our next visit, so I'm sure we'll stop in at Gurgling Suitcase either before or after.

Of all my trips to OKW I have never had a drink there but I have been inside.

Any particular reason for that? My understanding is that it's a small place and it can get pretty crowded. Have you found that a deterrent?

I just went it to check it out while we initially checked in on our first trip. I said I was going to go back but either forgot about it or did not have the time. Hardest thing at OKW is that its not a skip and a jump to get there from your room. That always makes it harder for me.

True, thats why i always request a building close to the main pool and gurgling suitcase

Aside from a couple breakfasts at Olivia's, I have not spent time at Old Key West. Is it really sprawling like Saratoga Springs?

The large footprint of Saratoga Springs has kept me from booking there. Too many bus stops! It's one of many reasons why we've stayed at French Quarter so much. I like that I can walk a lap around the entire resort in less than ten minutes. Being close to the amenities (and only a short walk from those at Riverside as well) is nice.

But I digress. I'm totally going to Hemingway it up at Gurgling Suitcase on our next vacation. Mojitos, anyone?

I didn't know when I started this thread that Sarah had been at the Gurgling Suitcase just hours before. I talked to her briefly about it later that night. It's great that she's always willing to do important research for the fans!
