The Greatest Disney World Ride of All Time

What is yours and why?

For me, it's the Haunted Mansion because it's stood the test of time. It can gracefully handle minor updates to add to the fun, but Paul Frees and the detail make the ride for me. A true classic from beginning to end.

Bonus question: What's you extinct attraction do you miss most?

I'm sure we'll get a lot of Horizons, but for me, I MISS Dream Flight more than anything. I just have such good memories from that...I wish I could go back in time.

I would say Haunted Mansion, if only because the "upgrades" that have been made to it are subtle and genuinely improve the guest experience, which has always been immersive and interesting, with terrific special effects and just the right combination of gothic creepiness and Disney-style whimsy.

My second choice would be POTC, which unfortunately for me has suffered due to the "reimaginging" that has made an American actor the centerpiece, instead of the gang of unknown pirate scoundrels that used to rule the roost. Had those changes never been made, it would have remained #1 for me.

This is difficult, but i would have to say PotC. I say this only because as some here have learned in my past answers, i base everything on the nostalgia of being a disney child. Now being 30 I want to hold onto the childhood memories of the park, and rides that bring back the most of my childhood are my favorite. This of course doesnt take away from any of the other rides. For instance, I cannot miss the indy stunt show, spaceship earth or even hm, again because of my lifelong connection to them.

with that logic in place, the ride i miss most is 20k.

The best I would say is HM. Amazing effects, a dark and humorous sequence of events, and the amount of dedication they have to keeping it current really makes a difference.

Most fun ride through I would give to Splash Mountain. I love how surprised I was when a little kid to discover how much more the attraction is than just that one drop.

Most missed I would say either Mr. Toad or Horizons.

20K.

I actually get angry sometimes when I think about how long it's been gone.

20,000 Leagues is easily the best Disney ride unique to the Magic Kingdom.

Pirates is great, but is clearly inferior to the original version.
You can make a case for the WDW version of the Mansion being better than the original, depending on whether you detract points for the new graveyard queue and CGI hitchhikers nonsense.

Looking outside the Magic Kingdom, the WDW version of Tower of Terror is still the best of the four, so I'd give that the nod for best WDW ride still standing.
