The Great Movie Ride-Updates?

I had heard that TGMR was being considered for a Spider Man-like ride (from Islands of Adventure) or possibly a copy of the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland. Anyone know if there is any truth at all to this rumor?

Um........................ no. Where do people hear these things? If that were true, many of us would have heard it by now and news would have been plastered all over these boards.

Well actually it was a pretty strong rumor........about 2 or 3 years ago. That rumor has died down considerably recently though.

Actually a good deal of the shows are now "B" shows (the gangster scene). I guess it is cheaper to run only the gangster shows since the pyro effects in the "A" show are probably more expensive. They can run shows with individual cars or two cars in a cycle. It does not matter what show the car is assigned to, the ride control system will make sure the vehicle goes to the right spot. If you want the western scene ask a cast member but be prepared for up to a thirty minute wait for that show to come around (There is normally always one western show, as far as what I have encountered).

What I've read in the rumor mill is that the technology/ride system spiderman uses was developed by ex imagineers. Had they not been let go, this could have been in one of Disney's parks. The rumor said that TGMR would have housed this technolgy for a new way to step into the movies.

I've not seen any confirmation of this rumor at all. The problem I have with it is non disclosure. I would think that if they had this technology (blue sky or not) that it would stay with Disney and/or they could not use it at another employer like Universal...who knows though?
