Yes. Yes I have. I've been on 4 times on Disney, twice on Carnival, twice on Royal Caribbean, once on one I forget the name of through Panama Canal, and I will be going on Princess in a few days to Hawaii (plus Disneyland afterwards! Woop!)

You can pay for drinks, snacks, souvenirs and other items in the shops with cash. This is more along the lines of what I was referring to. It makes sense for big expenses to be used only through credit card, that is a lot of cash to work with. I remember buying souvenirs with cash inside the shops 2 years ago. Unless it has indeed changed.. I know all other cruise lines haven't done this in the past 2 years for these types of purchases.

Hmmm as far as I know it's not possible on RCCL or DCL ships.

I definitely believe they will continue to enable the Magic Bands. It was a huge investment and not meant to be just a glorified FastPass Ticket. I actually hope they roll out the most enhanced version of the Magic Band technologies to EPCOT. Imagine at EPCOT no need to ever scan your MagicBand at the gate, rides or stores. Instead sensors will ID the chip in the band and do the appropriate work (ie allow access to the park, access to FP+ lines, and pay in store so you can essentially just grab and go).

I am actually surprised that the FL Turnpike still has so many cash lanes. Dallas is all license-plate billing and Georgia will be all toll pass soon (if it is not already).

We have that in parts of North Carolina as well. I'll tell you this, of all the modern technology all around us, I have to think that this is one of the most mind blowing that I have seen. It photographs you license plate and at the end of the month it sends you a bill for use of a highway. I have no idea what happens with out of state cars (there are no toll booths) or, since this is red neck country, plates that are covered with the red soil of the south.

It also is mind blowing that I will get a bill for 50 cents. I'm not sure how they cover the cost of the letter, a clear photo of my car and plate, envelope and postage. What's postage now, around 47 cents isn't it. Oh, well... I guess it must work somehow. They used to use that same system at intersection to catch people running red lights. Worked really well too. For some reason they stopped doing that a couple of years ago. If you ran a red light you received a ticket in the mail. You either paid the fine or went to court depending on how sure you were that you didn't do it, even though they had a picture of your car going under the bright red light.

Parts of Florida already have this system operating.

well yeah, they raise the toll rates all the dang time, which es me off. But the rates using the tag are still always cheaper here.

No credit card with us. I didn't even realize I was on a toll road until I got the first bill. I've only been on this particular road a total of 3 times since I moved here 5 years ago, so a tag would not be worth it. I'm sure I am not the only one that doesn't use it very much. Can't see how it can be profitable, but, it must be as it continues on.

It may not be all that profitable, but if it is a publicly owned toll road, they may have no choice. I have seen some privately owned toll roads go broke and be taken over by a government agency that will continue to collect tolls. They may lose money overall (when including both operating and maintenance costs) but would lose more without the tolls.

Just about none of it is "true" in the sense that we know it's happening. It was merely speculation on the OP's part of how they thought things might progress. All is possible, but, very little of it has a big chance of actually happening. Unless, of course, the OP's real name is Nostradamus! Or perhaps if you read and interpret the Book of Revelations really closely, it may be predicted in there someplace.
