The Force Awakens

I wonder how well this will do. I know I have bought so many copies of the movies that until an original release comes out, I won't be buying any other versions. And at this point anyone who really wanted them digital, has already ripped them. But who knows, it will probably sell millions.

Yeah. Star Wars fans will buy this. You'll note that whenever Lucas came out with a new edition with some new awful change, the average reaction was, "I can't BELIEVE he did this! He's ruining the movies! ... I mean, I'm going to buy it anyway, but this is the LAST time!"

I am sure it will do very well, and it's probably not costing Disney much to do it, except for whatever they have to hand over to Fox, so it's going to be profitable for them.

The digital versions have a new Lucasfilm fanfare. I wonder if this is what will be used for The Force Awakens?

"Whether or not you’re in Anaheim next weekend for Star Wars Celebration, you’d better be on alert. We know that at 10 a.m. April 16, J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy will take the stage at the event to premiere the second trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That event will be simulcast in various rooms around that convention and, possibly, in cinemas all over the world. (That last part is still only a rumor, however.)

In an ideal world, Lucasfilm and Disney would keep these reveals at the convention and special for fans who paid to be there. However, because of the multiple simulcasts, keeping a lock on security is all but impossible. I’d bet very heavily that the second Force Awakens trailer as well as the poster will both be posted online almost immediately after they debut at Celebration. So next Thursday, expect Star Wars to rule the Internet."

This makes sense to be, although I doubt the part about the simulcast in theaters since I think they would have announced this by now.

As we wait anxiously for Thursday to arrive, another piece of news has hit this week. Apparently there is an image floating around the internet of Kylo Ren's face and how it will appear in final form. It is shown on a puzzle to tie-in with the film. Just do a Google search and I'm sure you'll find something.

I have a feeling they will have the feed go blank for the trailer.
I fear that as well.
JJ Abrams could pull a great prank with this if he really wanted to. While all the folks at Celebration are seeing the actual trailer...he could have a tribute to Jar Jar Binks or Anakin's most memorable tantrums play out on the live feed. Could you imagine the outrage?
