Shortly before we went I saw a post somewhere (Instagram maybe?) of different sweet treats for Halloween; they all looked amazing. But when we were there none of them looked worth it.
I did contemplate the chocolate filled Mickey beignet - but it is HUGE and no one was interested in splitting it.

Once we were finished we headed over to the ride were unable to do in April for our first spin of the trip. Big Thunder mountain. This is just as good as we remembered it to be. Easily better than WDW's runaway mine train. Then on exit I had a moment of panic as I realised my phone wasn't in my pocket
Maybe something about DLP - I had the same experience on Crush's coaster. I was beyond grateful to the CM's who found it and got it to lost and found.

@Mr Ferret 75 -- just got caught up with your great, Part Deux, DLP TR! Your photos are excellent. Those parade pictures are so much fun! But the best photo of all was of Mrs. Ferret with Chip and Dale! Adorable! 
So , where was I ?
Oh yes . A return to the castle park.
We headed back in and went straight to Phantom manor , as is customary.
We had paid for a premier pass for Thunder mountain , when entering the park , as we wanted to ride this in the dark and there was already a rather long queue.
When we got to the premier line the ride had gone tech
. Unsure what happens with the pass we spoke to the cast member there to be shown that the app had already updated it so we could use it anywhere else in the park . Off to the Caribbean then.
Sure enough we scanned in and walked straight onto the back of a boat to begin our pirate adventure. All was good until we got to the pirate trio singing their song with the donkey.
Our boat stopped in a line pretty much just by these characters and we thought nothing much of it as sometimes they do back up here as there is a drop just ahead. after a few minutes waiting with nothing happening we thought maybe they are backed up due to loading an accessible boat
.
Some time later and still being serenaded I decided to break out the phone and take an on ride selfie (no flash as I'm not that type of guest)

Or it seemed like it. then a voice over the speakers announced that some of the lights were going on and for everyone to remain seated. It got a little brighter and we waited some more. Then the voice from the heavens returned and announced to prepare for the work lights to be switched on. The place lit up like daytime and the music was switched off. very creepy watching the animatronics moving with no sounds. Soon they ground to a halt as well and the voice returned informing us to please remain seated and help would be with us shortly..

The cast members arrive in front of us just before the drop. One had a boat hook in hand and the other was in waders. Highly technical method of evacuation by moving the boat to the nearest exit point and holding it in place whilst guests escaped. Soon we were moving backwards ( the nearest route was just behind our boat) and then we were back on dry land.
