Hello everyone! I have a few tidbits from around the park, plus more observations after a couple more trips on Spaceship Earth.

General EPCOT:
-The Fountain of Nations was in its standard mode the entire evening, not dancing with the Christmas music and Lights of Winter like it usually is.
-As Merf speculated, the doors in Innoventions West have reopened in the Breezeway. That's the first time since the days of CommuniCore, I believe. There is no sign, at least not yet. Seemingly negating the old rumor that the Road would be going away, it has been extended to these doors, as the new Velcro exhibit doesn't extend all the way to IBM like the previous Too Small to See and Ultimate Home Theater Experience venues did.
-Speaking of which, the construction walls around half of the Velcro venue are down, reopening that section of Road, and revealing a Toontown-like exterior. Walls are still up around the section of the Velcro exhibit next to the doors that lead out into Future World West.
-The overhauled bathrooms in Future World West have finally reopened. They have been this way probably about month now, but I don't think I've seen anyone mention it here. They are very colorful!

Spaceship Earth:
-First off, both of the signs were on, but instead of them changing colors, they were just subtly changing shades of blue and shimmering.
-Not really a piece of news, but just a thought about the picture-taking. I think that they are going to have a tougher time than they thought with the image capture, as certain humans aren't just content with sitting there and smiling. For example, I saw one person flip off the camera, and another couple making out for their picture.
-At the end of the mammoth projection, the bleeding light below has been eliminated (once again, I think Merf had mentioned that).
-"Thank the Phoenicians" is back.
-In the Renaissance, the epic story of the controversial modification to the statue being chiseled (Venus de Milo, if I'm not mistaken) has had an interesting twist. A smaller model of the completed figure has appeared, anatomically correct chest and all. I could have somehow missed this before, but I could swear it wasn't there until now.
-On two of my trips, the ride system stopped. The first time was in the computer lab for about a minute or so. They played a couple different automatic spiels, and I'm pretty sure they're the same ones from the Jeremy Irons version. The second time it jerked to a stop between Greece and Rome for about ten minutes, more obviously some type of ride system malfunction. A Cast Member came on over the P.A. to spiel (heavily-accented, poor English, I might add), and only used one of the automatic spiels.
-Merf had also mentioned the telegraph operator sending a message about Amelia Earhart (which is one of the quiz questions on your touch screen towards the end), but I also heard the radio announcer talking about her.
-A couple of nice touches I saw in the living room were an in-progress game of Mouse Trap sitting behind the couch (thoroughly sunk into the carpet), more board games sitting on the shelf (Risk, Concentration, and one or two others I can't remember), and a decent collection of National Geographics.
-Once the touch screen is activated, it no longer asks you where you live.
-Something I noticed I hadn't before, if you don't answer any of the questions, a countdown clock will appear in the upper right corner of the screen and a tone to go with it.
-Parts of the descent are looking marginally better, but I noticed that the worst section is ironically right when your video is over and you would theoretically start looking outside of your Time Machine again.
-I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice little homage when one of the video variations ended with the phrase "...great, big, beautiful tomorrow!"
-And finally, the new Power City game in Project Tomorrow is very fun, I actually wanted to play it again. And, best of all, a certain silver geosphere and a wedge-shaped building with rainbow sides and solar panels on its roof make a nice appearance!

Nice review and comments there, I enjoyed reading them.
When you say the descent is looking marginally better, do you mean some effects or lights have been turned on or maybe the glitter future city is back? I know I know thats wishing too hard, uggg.

Thank you. A lot of the stuff that was just sitting there and looked like it was supposed to do something isn't apparent now. For example, towards the very end of the descent, there were these clear plastic strips and other random assortments on the wall, and now they're not there anymore, it's all just a black curtain starfield. The various starfields looked somewhat better this time around, they seemed less obviously just black curtains with pinpricks of light in them.

Thanks, nice little report there, I should hopefully be riding SSE again at some point today, so if I notice any other changes I will let you all know.

thanks for the update. im glad to see the statue is back with the "anatomically correct chest and all" :D

Well, no, the statue itself is still modified, it's just that a smaller model of what the completed statue will look like has appeared next to it, that the artist is working from.

As I think I've said before, I've never heard that the pictures will be going into the video. And for just that reason. It would be just too hard to make it equal with some people's inability to pose correctly. The pictures are set to be projected in the post show area where the star fields are. There's also another cast member position (which none of us are trained for yet, as the system isn't in place) called photo capture where we will literally sit and approve or reject all the pictures taken. This, of course, prevents the more vulgar of pictures showing up in the family atmosphere.

10 minutes and just 2 spiels? Really? :brick:

The first time I stopped was for about a minute or two, and I heard a spiel three times, all recorded. The second time we stopped for about ten minutes, I heard two live spiels, and then the "your time machine/vehicle will begin moving immediately" spiel the moment after we resumed motion.

Great update!

Quick query: Could you elaborate slightly on what Power City actually is? I haven't seen a single decent explanation yet.

Part of the rotation at SSE used to include "edit" which checked photos. The Global Neighborhood had the fiber-optic tree which people stuck their faces into little spots and it took their photo, then displayed an image on the branches of the tree. It was extremely quick - so the Edit-person was pretty busy. All they have to do is hit an accept or erase button though, and there's tons of time between when the photo is taken and the ending video starts.

Is the audio still not in sync with the ride or did it seem more improved?

If you're talking about the score, it is still uneven throughout the attraction, and very low-key. All I noticed that wasn't in-sync was the radio announcers voice not matching up with his mouth movements. Otherwise, the narration is in-sync, always has been as far as I can tell. Although a personal gripe of mine is that Judi Dench is still talking well into 180top, without any kind of grand reveal of Earth. Just "Here we are at the present. Blah blah blah Spaceship Earth blah blah blah blah blah blah."

It is similar to an interactive element that they had in the queue for the House of Innoventions. It consists of an image projected on a surface that you are able to interact with. In this case, a SimCity-like area is projected on the ground. You walk around this area with sticks pushing around projected energy discs (wind power, solar power, and special Siemens Green Energy) to various areas of the city that need power. The goal is to provide as many people as possible in the city with power.

Well, don't worry, If they use the Kodak system like every other on-ride photo system, training won't be hard at all. I got thrown into tower's edit room with no training and did just fine. It's not a difficult system to master.

I believe it's pretty standard everywhere that if an attraction is stopped you're supposed to get a speil every 30 seconds, 2 recorded and 1 live.

Yup. When I first trained they showed me the old room and I remember the tree back from being a guest there. I was told the biggest problem wasn't the volume but just the sheer mindless boring aspect.

Heh, Yeah. I'm not worried about it being difficult, just how boring it would be to get stuck in a slow rotation in our little room that will be where the edit room is. It's tiny.

The faces are definitely going to be in the video. In fact Merf posted video of it earlier when he saw it working. I think if someone doesn't take their picture correctly or the face isn't clear then you'll just get the default face.
