Truth be told I think the low rating (based on the comments) is that every time Disney makes a "women's" t-shirt they run about 4 sizes too small. An XL shirt designed for a woman runs about the size of a typical medium. Never understood that one.

This particular shirt is massive! I ordered a small and it's like a burlap sack!

I find that the Disney shirts from the Disney store, the 2 for $28 graphic tees anyways are true to size if not larger. I am usually an extra large, but in some rare cases I can actually go for a large in those tops. I ordered an XL in that Epcot shirt, and it fits me fine. The paint around the bust was a bit tight at first, but after stretching it out a bit its fine now, so I don't always understand the comments like that, and I never know when to trust them. I have some shirts that family has gotten me from the parks that the XLs look smaller, but I though that one was fine. Really strange about the acronym though. =/
Really? Are you sure you're buying the ones that are labeled as "women's" and not just normal T-Shirts? The normal ones have always been huge on me (an XL fitting more like an XXL) but the "women's" shirts were always way small. Odd!

SIDE NOTE: I emailed them about this... I just had to... they responded saying they appreciated my candor and respected my opinion and would let management know. Opinion? I dunno I think it's fact that they are wrong on this one. LOL

There is video of Walt explaining what EPCOT actually means, correct? Perhaps someone should email them the youtube link? :p
He does get it wrong the first time. He says "city" instead of "community" and then puts a lot of emphasis on "community," correcting his error when he repeats the meaning. Not enough strength to do a second take...

It could be worse, im surprised they didnt change it to Enchanted Prototype Community of Tomorow yet. The only futureistic frontiers left are environment, space and settling in places never lived in by humans before.

Ther're probably just rewriting a bit of history to suite the current political class, you know the "everybody needs to be environmental"... say the hollywood types and politicos wandering about the planet in hugs SUVs.

This is just another example of how amazingly ignorant of "Disney History' that corporate Disney is these days. How can anyone expect Disney to uphold traditional Disney values when they don't even know the actual names of their own parks.
And I LOVE how they emphasize that that is the actual acronym, when in fact it is NOT. The arrogance is mind boggling.

Well the description does speak of upper-case 'EPCOT', and describe that as an acronym, instead of lower case non-acronym Epcot. The shirt is retro, but still, somebody did their homework. And then probably messed up.

I'm wondering...is it a Freudian slip? A subconsious association? Walt was from before 1968, old school. After 1968, experimental communties came to be associated with hippies, with progressive, alternative lifestyles, with a rejection of consumerism and materialism. And green, and sustainable, and environmentally friendly.

Whereas old school Walt's experimental community was pre-hippie. It was industrial, technological, modernist. Where Progress City was progressive, it was progressive more in line with utopian communist ideals such as those of Le Corbusier and Niemeyer, instead of with hippie treehuggers.

But nowadays, the (subconscious) association of experimental community with 'environmental' is more easily made. Then one needs be but a bit sloppy, just a bit distracted, and the subconscious association can creep up.

I was surfing around the Disney Store and came across this shirt. I was thinking of buying it and then something caught my eye and I said "SAY WHAT?!?" I know I'm not crazy but hasn't the "E" in EPCOT always been "Experimental" not "Environmental" as listed here?

Celebrate EPCOT's 30th Anniversary in style with this collectible vintage look tee featuring the original logo that launched Walt Disney's vision of the "Environmental Prototype Community of Tomorrow". (Yep, that's the acronym.)

You're Right. EXPERIMENTAL.

EDIT -- I just wrote a scathing review, and included a YouTube link featuring Walt Disney talking about the "Florida Project" in front of the giant map.

I've heard EPCOT used as - Experimental Prototype COMMUNITY of Tomorrow
as well as - Experimental Prototype CITY of Tomorrow

But never Environmental.

I think this is TDO nonchalantly initiating a name change since they have zero interest in ever making EPCOT experimental again ...

"So um ... what can we change it too, lord knows we don't want to sink any money into experimenting ... well it's largely outdoors, in the environme ... WAIT I GOT IT ... ENVIRONMENTAL!"

Aye. Walt used both phrases in the EPCOT promotional video he sent to the Florida legislature.

But he said "Expiremental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" twice, and kept saying "community" after that, so majority rules. :p

E=Experimental

Get back to that!

We should not be observing current technology. We should be observing FUTURE technology. State of the art stuff should be shown and discussed. That is the basis upon which Future World was founded upon.
