Disney Dollars are still valid to use at the parks, and I've used them at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. In fact, as recently as December the kids used their DDs to buy stuff at MGM Studios, at the Spectacle of Lights. So, have fun spending them! (But keep one or two for souvenirs.:))

I just went & the only ones I saw were....

Dumbo is on a $1
Donald is on a $5
Mickey is on a $50

We asked if the old ones are still good & they said yes. They also said they change them ever once in a while, because I guess Mickey use to be on the $1 dollar bill.

I got a $5 & $1 & my mother in law got a $50.

Yes, Disney Dollars continue to be produced and are accepted as currency at all of the American theme parks and Disney Stores (They are not accepted or produced internationally). The styles are periodically changed, but older versions do not expire or lose value. The current series features Sleeping Beauty Castle decorated for the Happiest Celebration on Earth on the reverse. Disney Dollars may be purchased at the parks or Disney Stores, or by mail order at

Disney Ticketing Services
P.O. Box 17140
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830
Phone: 407-827-4050

They can also be ordered via fax at 1-407-566-5645

One of the things we do before a trip is my brother and I ask trivia questions to the trip group. Correct answers win Disney Dollars to be paid on the day we check in. The DD's can be used for everything but we always save a few for gambling. Example, everyone puts a DD into the pot and the person who has the highest score on Buzz wins the money. Another popular bet is we pick who will be the first character we see each day. We bet on which monorail color will arrive first. It made the waiting more interesting for the kids when they were young since they could spend their DD's on whatever treat they wanted. Now that they're all teens, 19, 17, 15, they like coming up with more complicated bets and we're asking more complicated questions.

(I'm not sure about international parks or stores, but I think they are accepted there, too)

Sorry, folks, us guys out on international waters arn't as fun as that. DD are only a USA thing. DLRP and Tokyo, Even Hong Kong do not issue or take DD, nor do thry produce a regional variant. No Disney Euro, or Disney Yen.

We just bought a bunch of them at the Disney Store for the kids for our recent trip. The clerk did say that they sometimes run out at Christmas.

We ask relatives to give Disney Dollars to the kids as part of their birthday and Christmas presents. That way they have their "own" money to spend during our trips. They love it!

My MIL even gave me some for Christmas....she says she knew I would want to buy something, too

I love the $1 with Dumbo on it, kept a couple for myself.....

if you dont use all of them can you return them to a disney store?
Disney Dollars are non-refundable, but may be used as currency at The Disney Store.

Edit: Oops, actually, the Disney Dollars ARE refundable at the Disney Store. However, they must be presented along with the original reciept, and may only be exchanged $100 at a time.
