News The Darksaber debuts for purchase at Galaxy Edge

Today at Galaxy's Edge they started selling the Darksaber from the Mandalorian inside Dok-Ondar’s. Here's a picture from Disneyland News Today:

Doesn't seem to be really worth the price, but as far as I'm aware this is the first Mandalorian themed merchandise to be exclusive to GE, with Disney previously having merch carts under the bridge (technically in Frontierland) selling Mando knick knacks so not to break canon. Makes me wonder if we'll see more themed experiences for the Mandalorian come very soon to Galaxy's Edge.

By early last year the Mandalorian merch carts were creeping under the bridge and into the edges of GE. And last March, days before they closed, I bought one of the very first release of the Baby Yoda plush. In the Marketplace. In GE. Was in a line that snaked halfway back to the exit as word got out as it was the first really good merch of the character! It sold out quickly and I spent the rest of the day carrying little Grogu as everyone asked "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!" I told them GE, but it was sold out.

So yeah, the 'immersion' was already slipping over a year ago.

Yes it does. The hilt is metal and it actually looks like the blade. Whereas the other looks like a cheap child's toy.

I think that's less a fault of the replica and more a fault of the actual design of the saber itself. This lightsaber was first introduced in a cartoon, so its aesthetics are naturally going to be less detailed than a real movie saber design.

Yeah, its silly they've stuck to this whole weird timeline thing so strictly. It's "Star Wars Land" to 99% of the public., fill it with Star Wars stuff.

As of yesterday they had; Leia Organa, Rey Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano (Clone Wars), Count Dooku, Darth Vader, Darth Maul (the new Clone Wars one) and Ben Solo. They also had the Dark Saber.

You are on the Disneyland side of things . Yes i have seen reports of no sabers at HS and no sabers at Disney Springs. Might want to check the Hollywood Studios forum.
