Now as u all know the arcade in the contemporary is like the biggest and best on property and it actually gives out tickets, but i heard they are moving it to where like the steak house is on the main concourse level and the steak house goes where the arcade was. Anyone else heard a rumor like this ?

I haven't heard any plans about them wanting to move the arcade, but I guess anything is possible. I think it would be a very hard thing to do though since everything is already set up in that area, and the idea is to keep the arcade and the food court together.

I Have not heard that rumor, but it really dosen't make sense. I don't think it could fit where the steakhouse is, and besides, the steakhouse would have to be renamed, as it would no longer be in the concorse. And besides, it would make the concorse VERY VERY noisy. The arcade is good where it is because you can't hear it unless you actually go in. Wouldn't the Biggest arcade actually be Disney Quest, even though disney doesn't call it an arcade?

I have heard from several sources that the Concourse Steakhouse and Outer Rim Bar will be moved down to the arcade area (Fun Center) and that Chef Mickey's will take over the current area of CS and OR....

if my memory serves, that was the coolest arcade in the late 80's. i bet that disneyquest is better (havent been) but it would be a shame if the Cont. lost it. i have to play airhockey at least once when im on property. lol

hmm... does this mean the food and fun center moves also? If so then this makes total sense. the hotel does need a lobby bar/restaurant. This must mean that the lobby and concourse is getting a complete makeover.

There may be a lot of this "suffeling" of retail operations during the Contemporary's rehab. Much like the changes that happened during the Great Ceremonial House's recent rehab. (by the way, I love the GCH and esp. Bou-Tiki)

Yeah, Bou-Tiki is awesome! BTW, did they also update the Kona Cafe? Cause, I went to Poly during my last trip in May, but it had been a good while before then since I had gone, and I don't remember the Kona Cafe looking as cool as it does now. And is the GCH's rehab over already, or do they still have more to do?

Do you do this every time? And she never catches on?
oh she knows..... she just tries to catch me off guard after spotting her 4 goals and beat me. some times she just beats me out right....... she is pretty good at air hockey.

her signature move..... the 2 walled bank right around your paddle into the goal. it is irratating.

Just what I would want to do, eat in a box with nothing to look at. Big mistake.

The GCH rehab isn't nearly done. It is a very extensive rehab with the main part dealing with the food court. All the shops that were in the back (The mens and womens store, and I think News from Polynesia) are all going to become part of the food court. They are expanding it to accomodate the amount of people that the resort now holds.

My sister is just like that. Since we've often gone to Disney World together, we ALWAYS play air hockey (like a neverending tournament that even goes on at the airport).

1. She stops playing until I give her 3 free points or until she catches up to me.

2. She uses that exact same move to beat me now that she is ahead/tied with me. It's super irritating.

I liked the Concourse Steakhouse. But I don't mind if it moves.

Bou-tiki is a huge and awesome shop (it takes up that entire wall that was under rennovation). However, I HATE the new Polynesian merchandise. Lilo and Stitch are in almost everything!

I thought News from Polynesia was going to become the Wyland Gallery, with the old shop area becoming the expanded food court.

Bummer! I LOVE where the Outer Rim is! It's a neat place to kick back and people watch.

Edited to add -- Logistics could be a factor. When we were at CR in May, it was a *nightmare* trying to get an elevator. This might minimize some of the elevator traffic, so people getting to their room could actually get there. Then again, if it opens up more space for CM, it defeats the purpose...What do I know.

Well..If they Decorate it, It could turn out to be really neat, after all, Animator's Pallate on the Disney Cruise Line has no windows, and is basically a box, but is a really cool restraunt. And Granville's Steakhouse at Disneyland Hotel has no windows, but is still a nice atmosphere.
