We're all entitled to our opinion about what park we prefer. I prefer Disney over Universal. If I'm ever at Universal, it's usually to go eat the Hard Rock Cafe and catch a Blue Man Group show. Though, I've been finding myself gravitate more towards Margaritaville these days. I'm not saying I will never go back to Universal Studios, but I won't go there as much as I go to Disney which is for every 4 Disney Trips, there's a Universal trip in there. Sometimes you need to break up the Disney monotony. And now with Legoland Florida open in Winter Haven which is a hop, skip, and a jump from Disney, there's other choices if the "Disney Magic" becomes too much. :)

This is where I'm the opposite. Maybe 15 years ago I wanted to live in Orla do to be closer to Wdw. I visited once ever 3 or so years. 2010 was the last time I visited and thought that was a good idea. I got extremely bored with it and frankly that will remain that way until 2021 at the earliest. Universal however was not even on my radar then an impromptu visit in 2013 changed everything. This spring I went to only universal and really was impressed by everyone. The best walk around character in any park is doc brown, no question. The staff at both potter expansions are without quedtion, more dedicated than 3/4 of the Disney CMs. It's amazing that more people don't go there, but pixie dust and all that.

I still want to move to FL, but Tampa is as close as I want to be to Orlando right now.

I went to Universal Studios back in May as a chaperone on an 8th grade "Grad Night" trip with my wife who's a middle school teacher. We went to the new Harry Potter section and I'm not going to lie....I liked it! Granted, I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan, but it was done nicely! My favorite attraction was the Hogwarts Express.

In regards to your move, Tampa is still pretty close to Orlando (about an hour away) so if you get the bug to go to Universal or Disney....just gas up the car and go. I'm down here in Fort Myers (about 2 hours south of Tampa), so for us to get to Disney is a 3 hour up I-75 through some of the back roads in central Florida before getting back on I-4 outside of Haines City near Clermont in that area.

I'm definitely not a potter fan at all but those TMS get you into it much more than you would be when you interact with them. They're half the reasonight it is the perfect theme park land to me. New harmbe seems to have the closest thing buy the extra story and lore behind potter, puts it over the top.
