Although will never see the Center part of Epcot ever come back. I thought it was rather odd now to say the entire park name with it
"Experimental Protoype Community Of Tommorow CENTER?!?" Yeaaahhhh...That does sounds strange Does anyone know why they did it? Or was it that when it was said in full it sound strange?

EPCOT Center was to be just that - the center of a community. The Epcot park is not, and was never intended, to be all of EPCOT. Rather, it was meant to be the futuristic hub of the city.

Some folks say Epcot never really came into being, which is certainly true if you look at the initial plans for the WDW property. But, the Reedy Creek Improvement district is governed by the Epcot code - and in several, rules, laws, regulations of WDW and it's governing, the term Epcot as a reference for the entire place keeps reappearing. Essentially, EPCOT is all of WDW, and the Epcot park was to be the cultural hub when it was designed.

Until someone is thinking as me. WDW is what EPCOT was plan (and for those that includes Celebration, and the residence for CP and International Cast).

So WDW was not supposed to be so spread out?

Scroll down to about the third image and you'll see a rough sketch of how Walt wanted it to be spread out. It appears almost identical to WDW of today minus all the resorts, the other parks and such. WDW probably would not have been spread out almost as much as it is today, its just, there were really no thoughts about other types of parks, entertainment districts, and more resorts for the property. EPCOT was to be the main thing there and everything would be contained inside it. So there really was no need to be spread out.
