1) Monday July 31st - Virgin Atlantic's computers went down at Manchester Airport - this resulted in a delay of up to 4 hours. We arrived at 0730 Tuesday August 1st and found the delay have been brought back to under 2 hours. However, having boarded the plane they discovered "technical" problems which resulted in eventually landing at MCO over 4 hours late.
2) Some anonymous "kind person" hit our rental car while it was parked at DownTown Disney causing front end damage and they didn't leave their details. So having notified the rental company by phone, we had a visit from the local sheriff at our villa and had to file an accident report. Thankfully, I was fully covered with the insurance and so there were no problems when the vehicle was returned to the airport.
3) Magic Kingdom. Sat near the Partners statue waiting for SpectroMagic when some of the feathered wildlife flying overhead decided to move their bowels all over the Capt and his camera equipment.
4) We had vouchers for Discovery Cove. The vouchers stated that we needed photo ID when presenting them, so passports were the obvious choice. PANIC, we turned the rooms and our luggage upside down during a 60 minute game of "Hunt the Passports". Found them eventually.
5) Discovery Cove. Arrived on our allocated day, enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast, much swimming followed by a very nice lunch. An hour later we headed to the Sea Horse Cabana for our Dolphin Experience to be told that there had been an "accident" in the water during one of the earlier sessions. As a result they were running late and they therfore had to re-schedule the swim times. The bad news was that they were looking for 5 volunteers to come back another day as they didn't have enough time for everyone. We volunteered - we missed out on the swim that day but got another day at DC completely free and of course, the Dolphin Swim.
6) Finally, The flight home. Everything on time, luggage checked in and everyone through the heightened security checks, the boarding announcements were made and people started to board the plane when the gates were shut due to an electrical storm immediately over MCO. The delay was over an hour but due to favourable winds we landed back in the UK only 40 minutes late
