TV ALERT!

40 years ago today, the Beatles made their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in NYC....the start of the British Invasion!

Trivia: Can you name all 5 songs the Mopheads sung that night?

Hey Kids! David Lettermen is suppose to air the entire Beatles' Ed Sullivan appearance during his show tonight. Lettermen tapes his shows in the Ed Sullivan Theater in NYC. So if you want to see what some of us old farts saw when we were teens, tune in to Lettermen tonight or record it if it's too late for ya.

Trivia answer: All My Loving, Till There Was You, She Loves You, I Saw Her Standing There, and I Want To Hold Your Hand.

Did you see the piece yesterday on Sunday Morning on CBS?
My little one (9y/o) couldn't believe that was really Paul.

You got all five....way to go!:sohappy:

I missed CBS Sunday Morning yesterday. I had a computer fart and had to reformat the entire hard drive yesterday...what a pain in the tush.:fork:

My 12 year old loves the Beatles...we've were trying to win the DVD, "Ed Sullivan Presents the Beatles," all weekend on a local radio show (ya have to call in and be the 9th caller). So, I ordered the DVD on Amazon this morning for her birthday in a couple of weeks.

I LOVE the Beatles, I think my favorite would have to be Let it Be, I really want it to be our graduation song next year. I also love Eleanor Rigby, Help, Something etc.

I have my 8 and 5 year old daughters listening to the Beatles as well. They LOVE them and sing and dance around the family room. I have all of the 'Officially Released" material so it is easy to tire them out. It is great to see yet another generation getting plugged in to the best music ever produced.

A cautionary note...don't expect to see the entire 2/9/64 performance tonight on the Late Show.

The Late Show newsletter/e-mail I just received stated that only one song (I Wanna Hold Your Hand) is going to be shown.

I'll be disappointed. CBS news was promoting it this morning as the entire performance, all five songs.

Oh well, it's still worth watching.:)

I hope the British Invasion at Epcot mentioned it in one of their sets. I love that band, always have to see them!
