The Black Hole

A friend of mine let me borrow his DVD of The Black Hole. It was fun to see a movie that I hadn't seen since my childhood in the 1970's. A ride based on this movie would fit in great in the Jules Verne/Buck Rogers themed Tomorrowland that we now have. Put it where that piece of crap Toontown is.

A great idea! I would love to see a Black Hole attraction, being a big fan of the movie. However, given Disney's track record, I don't think it is realistic, because of the movie's appeal. The same people who saw the original in the theaters back in the 70's are not exactly the age group Disney is trying to attract. This is the main reason we no longer have 20,000 Leagues.

I know...it's just wishful thinking. Something based on Tron would be neat too. I just wish they'd do some type of expansion of Tomorrowland and/or Fantasyland using the area where 20,000 Leagues was and where Toontown is currently. It just feels like an out of place waste of space when you go there. You can definately tell that it was a half baked add on to the MK. It just doesn't flow like the rest of the park does.

It's a cheesy movie, but it's fun. It was Disney's attempt to get in on the late 1970's Star Wars craze.
