Pre-Trip The birthday trip! Yes, I changed the title

Hi guys! Me, again!

Just booked trip #18 celebrating my daughter's 17th birthday and my husband's 37th birthday in February of 2017! We are so excited and can't wait to go back home!

WHO- Me(Courtney 34)
Husband(Kevin 36)
My Daughter(Brooklyn 16)
Step-Daughter(Mia 10)

WHAT- Well, my baby girl turns 17 on February 3rd and my husband turns 37 on Feb 7th. Also falling in there is Super Bowl Sunday on the 5th. I couldn't care less about football, but since my husband is big football fan I figured I'd look into some fun activities for that day. 5 day hoppers as of now, possibly adding a 6th day during the trip. DDP(we're big fans) My daughter and I spent 2 hrs picking what ADR's we're going to shoot for, and with everything we picked the math comes out to 2 free dinners if we go with the DDP as opposed to paying out of pocket.

WHERE- My fave spot POFQ( our 4th time staying here)

WHEN- February 1-8th possibly the 9th lol

WHY- See WHAT lol....

So like I said, Brook and I carefully chose every restaurant we hope to visit during this trip. Hopefully we are able to snag everything we'd like, but if not, we have a few backups;)

Here is what we have planned so far....Each trip we try and do something new. A new ride, show or restaurant. We are also adding in rest days, which we never do.

Feb1st...Arrival day...This will be a non-park day for us. We usually land early afternoon, so we will swim and hang around the resort until dinner at Chef Mickey's.

Feb 2nd...We will hit AK in the morning. Drop Mia off at Lilo's Playhouse(she LOVES going and BEGS to go every night) and then head over to 1900 Park Fare(a first for us) for an early dinner(hoping for 5ish). After dinner we will head to the MK, until around 10, then head back to the Poly to pick up Mia.

Feb 3rd...Brooklyn's 17th bday!!! A special one for us, I had her when I was 17, and I'm so proud of the young lady she has become. She chose Epcot in the morn and LTT and the MK for her bday dinner...she LOVES it there.

Feb 4th...HS in the morn, leave after lunch and swim until dinner at Spirit of Aloha, a first for us! I'm REALLY excited about the luau!

Feb 5th...Super Bowl Sunday! Rest day. We will swim, maybe do some resort hopping, or whatever else we stumble across. Mia will go to Lilo's at 4 and we will head over to the Boardwalk to visit ESPN and watch the game. They don't take ADR's for dinner or for big games, so hopefully if we arrive more than an hour before game time we'll find some seats. Brook and I will watch for an hour or so, eat some snacks, then hit the Boardwalk and probably rent a surrey. Haven't been to the BW in over 10 years.

Feb 6th...Some nice members here told me about the Super Bowl parade on Monday, so we will check that out. Leave MK in the afternoon and hop over to Epcot to eat at the Garden Grill. Brook and Mia have never been.

Feb 7th...Kevin's 37th bday! He chose Epcot for his bday park. We'll all have dinner at one of his fave places in WDW, Cape May Buffet then hop over to HS for his fave ride, RnRC.

Feb 8th...Departure Day...unless we decide to add another night in the next few months!

WOW! The days are realllyyyy flying by! I cannot believe how close this trip is! I'm sure after Christmas and the New Year, it will really go quickly! Once again, this trip is a surprise to my 10 year old step-daughter Mia. We got her a new set of luggage and when she opens it on Christmas Day there will be a Disney gift card inside which will spill the beans!

I've been talking to a CM in a Facebook group we're both in for a few weeks, and tonight out of the blue she messaged saying she'd like to meet up and give me a 40% merch voucher!! I was shocked! So cool of her! I told her I just might take her up on her offer because as u all know my daughter will be turning 17 on day 3 of our trip!!! I'll be packing a few small presents for her, but it would be cool for her to pick out something nice down there too!:) Love that Disney magic :inlove:

My family just tried 50's Prime Time this past summer and had a great experience!! two thumbs up!

Thank you for your advice! Prime time was a must do for us up until this past January. My daughter and I went for lunch and our server did NOTHING. No playing along at all! We were so bummed because our previous 2 times dining there were awesome, so much fun. This last time left us saying we would probably never return. I was just shocked that the waitress did nothing with a kid at the table:(

How disappointing!! We had such a great experience there. We even contacted Disney and let them know how awesome our server was. I don't blame you for not wanting to go back, there is so much to choose from so why go back to a place that was horrible. I've heard a lot of great things about Sanaa.

WOW!! I cannot believe we are 30 days out!! This is the first time I feel like a trip crept up on me which is kind of nice! We also have a few changes which I am SOO EXCITED about!

I've worked at a bank for the last 10 years. The bank I work for prides itself on NOT being like other banks. We are open 7 days a week, open some nights until 8pm, and open most holidays. Because of this, we are given an insane amount of vacay days. This year I get 40 days paid vacation. Yes, that's right...8 weeks( weekends don't count because I wouldn't be here that day anyway) That being said...my husband only gets 2 weeks. Since we are booked for 9 days this trip, he would be using 7 days one month into the new year. We eventually decided that he and his 10 yr old would fly down on Feb 4th. That means that Brook and I get 3 whole days to ourselves!!! I am sooo freakin exciteddddd!!! Disney has always been our thing, but since I got married 2 years ago it's become a family thing. I had my daughter to myself for the first 14.5 years of her life which I loved every second of. Getting alone time, especially alone time at Disney for more than a few hours is rare. She was so excited when I told her!

Since we are on the DDP, I couldn't get refunded for the first 3 days that Kevin and Mia won't be there. So we had to book another TS meal for the 2 of us. Brook chose Garden Grill for breakfast the morning of her 17th bday( Feb 3rd). We have never done any kind of breakfast meal at Disney, so at least that's new. Neither of us has ever has Mickey waffles! Clearly, we're not breakfast eaters lol.

The final change is that we will be renting a car upon arrival to visit a college that Brooklyn hopes to attend. My baby wants to be a commercial airline pilot, and hopes to go the Florida Institute of Technology. It's about a 1 hr drive. We land at 1pm and have an ADR at Chef Mickey's at 7:10pm which I keep trying to make a little later. I booked our flights today, and that was the earliest flight out of PHL that I could get. Well, there was one earlier...but there ain't no way in hell that I would get up for a 6:30am flight. Airfare was cheap...I got 4 roundtrip tix for $120 per person!!

Ok...so scratch what I said about taking the tour on arrival day. When I went to register us, I found out that the tours are only offered 9am-4pm. Landing at 1pm and then driving there won't work. Instead of renting a car upon arrival we will take the ME to FQ and either hang around as planned OR head over to the MK until our ADR at Chef Mickey's. I cancelled our FP's for the following day, February 2nd at AK. We will now rent a car that morning and take the drive. I just registered us for the tour and am soooo excioted for her!!

Yeahhh...most people are shocked when I tell them how many days I get lol...one of the main reasons I stay ;)

The flights would have been LESS if Kevin and Mia weren't flying down on a Satuday...but yes I was extremely happy with the price!
