let me see,

rebecca who was selling hats, etc. during Fantasmic! super pleasant, always smiling, geniunely enjoying what she was doing. It was very chaotic in there and not all the cm's working were quite as upbeat as she was.

mktiggerman - if that was you in the Tigger costume working at MGM in early August. kudos!! you sure were patient when the little kid who wasn't in line ran up and clung to your leg while you were trying to do pix & autographs with those who were in line! also, cool poses for the cameras.

I really should have made a note of who the monorail pilot was when my kids got to ride up front, they had such a great time and talked about it non-stop all the way back to the hotel. I really have no idea though, what the heck, should I just say it was Tyler?!!

Hey,
My favorite cast member is this: On the day of my very Sweet 16 my dad and i made a trip from very northern alabama to wdw. We drove down on monday and were there for my birthday on tues of this year. Well, in the early afternoon i was walking through 2morrowland when a cast member that was a man probably in his fiftys. i was wearing my "it's my birthday " pin and he asked if it was infact my birthday. I said yes, and he gave me a choice of any pin on his lanyard!!!!!!! i was so happy and very surprised. i picked a winking mickey that is only availble to cast members. it made my trip soooooooooo special:-)

a disney nut,

First there is Art-the greeter at The Beach Club, he is just "excellent" Then one visit long ago my son was about 4 years old and he went to the top of the slide at the pool at the Beach Club. He was sitting on the slide and about to go down when I told him to look at the lifeguard's name tag, which was "Michael" the same name as my son. The life guard said that today was his last day and that he was going back to college tomorrow and then he took off his nametag and gave it to my "michael" He pinned it to his bathing suit and slid down the slide! Michael is 13 now and still has that "Michael" cast member name tag hanging in his room. What a cool cast member!

Here's a way to recognize them!

There is an outfit called "Founder's Legacy, Inc.". They sell these wonderful pins that you can buy ($15.00 for 3 as I remember) that you can give to CM's that have really provided great service. The pins are small and very beautiful (red, white and blue in color). I always buy 6 pins before I go to WDW. Also, these pins are limited editions. The last set was limited to a total of 500 (I still have 4 of them for "really special" CM's). Then if a CM does something that really "makes your day" you can present them with one of these pins. And when I say present, you don't make a big deal out of it! There is no need to make a fuss and embarrass the CM. I normally just get their name, thank them for the great service and then give them the pin as a small token of my appreciation. Each pin is mounted on a handsome little card in which you can write comments showing your appreciation. In addition you can post your thoughts about the CM on the World Wide Web (that's why you need their name). Also, it's for any CM, not just the CM's in the various parks. Disney Store CM's and others are all included. The card that comes with the pin directs them to this website:

IMHO Disney CM's have a very tough job and deserve our support. While this is just a small gesture I think it is a good way to recognize CM's that give "110%". I gave a "costumed character" (the folks who can't speak) a pin last year. I never got his name but I know he saw my comments on the Internet. "To Infinity and Beyond"! Thanks to all you wonderful CM's!

Micha, the barber from MK; Wiliufred, Randy, Tracy, Rick, Mike, Grace and all my Custodial friends and managers from Frontierland and Adventureland; my Traditions "teacher" who also work at that candy aple store in Downtown Disney (I wanna say Rebecca).

In fact, ALL the MK Custodial managers, they were awesome!

I know I posted this before, but Bob and Tom, get my vote....

Last Thursday during our visit to WDW, My wife and I decided to take the boat launch from the Polynesian to the M.K. When we got on the boat, we were the only two people on the boat, and without us asking, the driver asked if we would like him to take a picture of both of us. We agreed and when the driver, Bob went to hand me back my camera he dropped it, ( and it was toasted). He then apolizigized several times, and on we went to the M.K. When we were exiting the boat he again said he was sorry, and again without us asking or complaining ( it was an accident), he said that he would call his boss to see if anything could be done. His boss Tom showed up and said that he would call HIS boss to see if they could do something for us. My wife and I were figuring on getting around a $50.00 discount on a new camera. When Tom got off the phone he asked us how much we paid for the camera (about$300.00 four years ago). He then said that they would replace our camera for FREE! I almost S@#t! right there on the dock.Bob then accompainied us to city hall to fill out a "No Strings Attatched" form and then went with us to the camera shop were we were able to pick out ANY new camera we wanted!! We then picked out a brand new camera for the same price we paid for the broken one. They even offered to give us free disposables if we didn't like the selection, and they would mail us a check for $300.00! The thing that REALLY impressed me was the Bob the cast member who dropped our camera stayed with us the whole time ( about 1/2 hr) even though we was now off duty. He didn't complain once nor did he even give us the impression that he was in a hurry on "His" own time. So many people complain about Disney all the time. I tell you this is why I go back every year. Beacause of people like Bob and Tom.

Adventurer's Club

I think that ALL the CMs in the Adventurer's Club are AWESOME! We love going, and our son does as well, ever since our first family visit when he was 10. Probably our favorite is Dotty -the maid (Well, I Know she's my son and husband's favorite - the french maid thing, you know.

My favorite has to be the guy playing Jeffro Bodeen at the Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL. We had the best meal of our entire stay there and it was all because of him. My whole group, 9 of us total, had a blast that night. Truly great service and a great CM.

Also, the King Louie that came to our resort with the Character Caravan. He had an encounter with my Mom because she did not have a King Louie pin on her lanyard. Truly hilarious!

Great job to all of the cast members, they truly do make the magic!:sohappy:

Best CM's

I have two CM stories that stick in my mind.

First off, about three years ago, my wife and I were down for 10 days. We were at the MK for an E-Ride night, and were walking right in front of the castle, close to closing time. This fellow on the custodial staff, he was about 55-60 years old, noticed that I was taking a picture of her in front of the castle. THERE WAS NOT A SOLE AROUND! He walked up to me, with no propting at all, and nudged me saying."Why don't you let me take a picture of you two with the castle all to yourselves. You really don't get this opportunity too often, and it's such a beautiful night."

With that, and a wink from the CM, I walked up to my wife, and we got the most beautiful picture taken of us all by ourselves with the castle that beautiful purple colour.

After taking the picture, the CM handed back my camera, and said that it was those moments that made the job what it is for him, and to have a beautiful night.

We melted over this very simple, yet spontaneous gesture.
It WAS the magical moment that trip.

Second was from DL. I was always interested in how the ride mechanics worked on all the attractions, and my favorite was The Matterhorn Bobsleds. I was around 10 years old, and just at the awkward age were girls were making me re-evaluate my stance on "Cooties", and I noticed this beautiful castmember working load at Matterhorn Boblseds. I was in line alone, since my brother was too chicken to ride. I had been studying the break-tracks, and those funny, almost octopus like pads that were on them to stop the cars on the track. I had been so focused that I suddenly realised that I was at the front of the line, and guess who was there to greet me? The tall blonde CM I had noticed earlier! She had this big smile on her face, and I guess had noticed that I had been watching how things worked very intently. She came up to me, and LIFTED ME UP(I was a wee lad) and down and said, "It looks like we have a future imagineer with us!"She smiled again as she buckled me in, and dispatched us on our way, but I will never forget how much that moment impacted my view of truely great CM's that work for the mouse.

You know, Tilt, that Custodial CM reminds me a lot of Rick, a trainer I had... Boy, the guy was always bursting with pride for being part of the WDW magic. And I tried very hard to follow his steps, and I used to do exactly what that CM did to you whenever I could.:)

My favorite would have to be my sister!!! :D She works in the Cone shop & Bakery. She tells me stories about how she treats the guests & stuff. And I see her at work. And she's really good at it! Not just saying that coz she's my sister. It's a shame people don't ask her questions about Disney though! She knows SOOOOO much!!!

I would have to say Siw-Therese at Norway. She had provided the best service that I had ever had at Epcot. She was smart, intelligent, and the first person ever to offer the Annual Pass Holders discount on my meal. I'd truly like to see her before she leaves.

Oh, as for my neat CM experience...

DH and I were lunching at the Garden Grill. When our CM (I'm sorry, I don't remember his name -it's just "Farmer Somebody" in my head) brought out desert - it was some cobbler - I asked if it had nuts in it ...I'm allergic to nuts and it had all of this crumbly stuff on it. He said he didn't know but he would check. So we're waiting and the next thing I hear is someone screaming "Wait!!! Stop!!! Don't eat that!!!" Bless his heart, he was running to stop me! It was so thoughtful and I was just laughing my a** off at the way he came scurrying back in! It was soooo funny! He also brought me ice cream, which is never a bad thing! :animwink:

Anyway, he was a sweetie...I really did appreciate his efforts! :)
