The Back to the Future Ride rumored to be closing

I'm glad I got to see it last year. This is the best "ride" at USF, IMO, and none of the rumors about replacements have me remotely interested. I wish they would keep the BTTF theme and just update the attraction, but I know that isn't really feasible. I just can't believe attractions like Jaws and Earthquake are still around (even though I'm sure they have decent sized fanbases as well) and BTTF will be closing soon.

This is the signature attraction for the entire resort and it will be a real shock to not see it there anymore. However, I can't say that the attraction isn't showing it's age right now. Even with that said, I'm still sort of in a state of shock that this attraction is probably going to close soon.

It looks like I'll have something else to look forward to when I head out to Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood for the first time next summer.

Earthquake and Twister I can agree with wondering why they're still there, but not Jaws. The fanbase for Jaws is tremendous. When they closed down Jaws last year they were inundated with so many complaints that they reopened it. Jaws is my favorite classic ride in the park and falls just behind the mummy as my favorite ride in the whole park.

I haven't ridden BTTF since the very first time in the early 90's. Even back then the ride system was so rough and the film just enough out of sync to make me really sick everytime I rode it. So while I like its presense in the park, I'm not necessarily sad to see it go if it's replaced with something better.

Heh, was talking to a friend of mine who went to Rock the Universe over the weekend and she said the lead singer of the band Relient K told the crowd to ride Back to the Future since it was closing soon....that was awesome of him. She also said the ride had a 90 minute wait.
