Disneyland's Redhead is now at the Walt Disney Archives. Sadly no announcement for Redd to be put into the Archives:
Must be the same reason they are keeping the Hollywood Tower Hotel sign. Just in case things don't work out.
Can't they just reprogram red 2.0 and remove the hat?Must be the same reason they are keeping the Hollywood Tower Hotel sign. Just in case things don't work out.
Surely that’s not the same figure that was in the attraction from ‘67-‘18 right? It must have been replaced at some point or did they really have the same figure in there that long?

The original tweet states that it is from Disneyland’s POTC. Maybe the Archives meant Disneyland Paris? This doesn't look like the one that was in the ride in '18- I thought maybe because of the lighting, but the costume, facial structure, and figure look different (picture taken 2016). I mean seriously- that archive costume looks like it came from Party City.

Maybe the archive one is from Disney World?
I did bit of a study on this issue, actually. You can see it here.

Son, I’ve been using the internet for over 20 years, and I’ve yet to see anyone on social media be “wrong” about anything. That'd be my guess- or maybe whoever runs the twitter for the archive is mistaken.
They realize even if offensive, it's still history. If the original redhead figure is so offensive and represents human sex trafficking, why on earth would the Walt Disney Company want to keep that around and celebrate it?![]()

The only thing more despicable than human sex trafficking is merchandise revenue loss. Not to mention, as of August, "We wants the Redhead" shirts were still readily available inside Disneyland- months after the change.
