The AP extension thread

Can't or won't? There is a big difference.

I can't go cause I am exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms and I'm a fragile human being.
I won't go cause I do not like to wear a mask in Florida weather.

Can't. I have fibromyalgia and I am incredibly sensitive to heat because of it. It would make mask wearing more than just uncomfortable for me. It would be dangerous with the heat and nerve issues can make things touching my face super uncomfortable to painful at times.

There are people who definitely struggle. I have issues myself but should be fine with a buff. Others cannot hsndle much of anything or anything at all. I hope they will allow face shields attached to hats or the like.

As of right now we paid for an unactivated AP renewal for 2 trips we cannot take due to parks being closed. I fear we'll not be able to travel when they do finally open due to school schedules and we'll have thrown our money away.

So this may be a dumb question but curious if anyone has found out more details on the AP extension vs cashing out the closed months. It is my understanding Disney won't be adding on the expiration until the exact number of closed days is known. With that being the case, how do you potentially plan beyond your AP expiration?

Our APs expire 7/18. Currently have a trip scheduled for mid June that will be canceled next week, if from holds, with back up trips scheduled for July (18-28) and Aug (2-12) pending what is happening. Honestly not expecting to visit this summer figuring the reduced capacity and mask requirements will keep us out, but if we wanted to, how are we going to be able to take advantage of the 60 day booking window for FP (we have resort reservations) or at all, pending when the opening date is announced,, if our AP haven't been extended yet to cover the trip times?

Lot of unknowns so imagine its possible FP could be shelved initially, etc. Just curious since our July window opens up Monday. Aug probably our best shot at this point but honestly just considering taking the money and taking time out of school in Oct or early Dec.

My AP is set to expire on July 8. I have a rebooking for July 8-24. I called Disney the day before I was to book the FPs and they put into my account some "fake" tickets called "FP Planning Key Card" to cover my trip so that I could book FPs. Each card lasted four days, so each of us got four planning cards. I didn't have any problems booking FPs. I was worried about day 15 & 16, but I just logged in for both of those days separately and was able to book those without problems as well. This is what it looks like in my account:

Nice. I'll give them a call then. By some crazy chance we do go in July or Aug and take the extension, would be nice to have that opportunity to book some of the tough ones early.

It's fanciful, but I'd really wish they'd let existing passholders defer remaining days for use down the road. I'm really not rushing to go back when it reopens. I'm not interested in wearing a mask or having limitations with park services/attractions nor do I really want to engage in the risk until it's deemed generally safe to do so.

It seems unlikely to me they would start the clock ticking July 11th when Epcot and Hollywood Studios don't open until the 15th. And for people who have platinum plus passes which include water parks, there is no announced opening for the water parks. I would think they would be doing the same as Shanghai and not adding the days until parks are open with no reservations necessary.

Hoping they update the new expiration dates on our accounts soon.

Have a trip booked for 7/28 but my Gold Pass expires on 7/4. So I'm trying to get fast passes (I know, maybe won't even need them) now but can't.

Called and chatted and they won't let me renew.
