Anyone recently experience the ALOHA LUAU at the POLY?? Was wondering how the food was and how you liked the show? Seems $$$, so wanted reviews from you all.

I can honestly say that of the dozens of trips I have had to The World, I have never known anyone who has ever gone to it -- of course, if you do, please post a review.

We went back in Oct and had a great time. I would say that it is worth going to for the show alone. Do not go thinking that the food will be great, as it is not on the same level as Ohana.

I agree

You go for the show. I have been to the Luau many times over the past 20yrs (I've seen the cut backs too) The show if fun to see, the get some audience participation. The food is nothing wonderful, so don't expect it to be. I havent been in the past three yrs though. It got to be the same show over and over. Although if the food was better I would pay the money and start going again. It's nice being outside for dinner.

I saw the show in 2004. I had seen the previous shows (both the "adult" luau and Mickey's luau), and I must say that I was pretty disappointed by the latest incarnation. The storyline is trite, the narrator made me want to chuck my chicken bones at her, and the volcano dessert was kind of icky.

That being said, the dancing portion of the show once the meal is done is absolutely fantastic, and as good as the luau I attended in Hawaii. But it does not make up for the aggravation of the "storyline" and the mediocrity of the food, IMHO. I won't be back until I hear that things have changed on EITHER front...

Your son should enjoy it. We went when my son was 5, and he loved it. It was also the grandparent's 50th. They do a little something for everyone how is celabrating something, but I don't think it will be anything really special or individual. (But you never know.)
