I've never seen a bigger turnout for the old house, not even during the busiest Fall days when it's the HMH. Obviously, they should just get rid of that version.

Maybe DL should have waited for HBG to open the 22nd. Only because those crowds won't be at HM now on the 22nd,(I'm guessing) those crowds will be on the Parade Route and at F!, & WOC-C! Then again, Matterhorn should take some of the crowds, Is Matterhorn open during DL Forever?
HM is not FP? Isn't it FP+ at MK? Does DL have a shorter queue/faster stretching room?
How long did you wait? Did you have a Fastpass?

I went on it first thing and waited 20-30 minutes.
There aren't many rides with FP at the DLR. Mansion only has the FP option for its holiday overlay.

Yes, exactly! I'm wondering how long they're going to keep the FP option for.

(Nearly) Everything has FP+ at wdw. Inluding Small World, Aladdin, and Muppetvision. I believe pre FP+ HM was similar to DL where they had FP only during busy weeks. (I vaguely recall there being no FP, then they added it, then they stopped. But that was over the course of many years so my memory his hazy)

WDW HM did have FP in the first years of FP operation, but it was removed.
Everyone is going in there to see this. It's a Saturday with numerous events going on including Hatbox 2.0 first re-appearance, a marathon and apparently the Tomorrowland movie premiere? I left the park early and don't regret it. It was horrendous.

So far, no. No passholder preview at all, and I doubt there will be soft openings of the entertainment.
Yeah, the Tomorrowland premiere at the DtD AMC is today. Joy.

Yeah, Downtown Disney is packed, Tomorrowland is closed, resulting in the rest of the park being overly packed. Not the best way to end a trip.

That's assuming it's not Disneyland's goal to space out some of the new openings to get people into the park multiple times.
They might not have necessarily wanted a 2-hour wait for the Mansion (or however long it is) but they certainly wouldn't mind all those extra people visiting the park this weekend buying tickets, food, and merch.
No, yes, and sort of.
Disneyland's queue is indeed shorter, both and length and time, but the stretching rooms, which are actual elevators, aren't any faster.
After visiting last week I have a suspicion that Disneyland's Mansion omnimover chain is set to run faster, which would give it a higher hourly capacity. I don't have any proof, though.

Nope! The Hatbox Ghost was in the Mansion when it opened...so if anything, there have been 998 in his multi-decade absence.

It's not the end of the world, it's been a great trip. Today was Beach day, and we're spending the last half in DL. Would have liked to gotten on more rides today, but with a six year old hour waits just aren't worth it. Waiting on the parade, enjoying cotton candy with my son and wife.
Darn! Good thing we're under 2 weeks till the 60th!

I agree with you there. Only reason I typed my earlier thought was I imagining those Crowds at Entertainment. A little scary looking. Could HM's response be a preview of the 60th? I don't know if PTN needs an overflow of watchers but it would be nice if Guests love PTN and it lasts a LOT longer than LM!

That's what I'm thinking. I'm kinda worried about doing the 24-hour event. I sought refuge in Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and even that had a bunch of people early in the morning.
I would most likely never go to a 24-hr day. It sucks because I had intentions on going to the parks on the 22nd before they announced it was going to be a 24-hr gig.
