Another interesting question which has some of the network censors a bit nervous is how Seth Macfarlane will behave on Sunday hosting the Oscars. While he is certainly a talented & worthy choice to host the awards, he can sometimes get carried away on stage and say some pretty off color things. Hopefully he'll be respectful for the Academy Awards, and save some of his more controversial material for when he's hosting a Comedy Central roast.

I hope Seth cuts loose some. Actors and actresses need to be brought down a few notches every now and then.

Best Picture - I want DJANGO or Les Mis to win!
Best Actor - I want Hugh Jackman but Daniel Day Lewis is a lock
Best Actress - Jennifer Lawrence
Supporting Actor - I think DeNiro killed it in Silver Linings Playbook but I'd like to see Christoph Waltz win again
Supporting Actress - Anne Hathaway. I really don't like her in anything and generally find her annoying BUT she absolutely deserves this Oscar.

I need to finally see Life Of Pi. Everyone I've talked to who's seen it rave about how good it is.

For best animated feature, I'm picking Wreck-It-Ralph. Though Frankenweenie was a surprise good film which certainly was better than it's previews suggested.

I'm a little surprised that Dark Knight Rises didn't get some sort of nomination (sound, score, etc). o_O

Paper man better win best short, it's one of my favorite shorts ever
Loved Paperman! Such a cute story with a feel good ending. I haven't seen the others, so don't really know what it's going up against, but it certainly was a great short.

I hope Anne Hathaway wins best supporting actress. She also played the best Catwoman to ever hit the screen (imo).

Everything Seth Macfarlane does on the Oscars is scripted and rehearsed -- sure he could throw in an adlib here and there, but its not likely. He doesn't get to write all his own material. He adds his touch to what the writers give him, they rewrite it, and its all delivered off the teleprompter cue cards. Middle America does not need to worry about anything too off-color from Seth.
As to my thoughts?
Best Picture: Argo
Best Director: Spielberg for Lincoln
Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln
Best Actress: Jessica Chastain in Zero Dark Thirty
Best Featured Actress: Anne Hathaway in Les Miserables
Best Featured Actor: Tommy Lee Jones in Lincoln

I don't think there will be any surprises at all in these major categories. The minor categories (editing, design, screenplays, etc) could be anyone's guess.

Expect Ben Affleck, despite not being nominated for Best Director, to accept the Best Picture award for Argo -- as Producer of the movie.

Have any of you seen this? I find it quite clever and funny. And no, I don't hate Anne and I think she did a wonderful job in Les Mis (from what I've seen). Her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream is outstanding.

As a huge Family Guy and Ted fan, I'm hyped for Seth! And this year's nominees were all fantastic, so it should be a really good show.

Predictions...

Picture: Argo (duh)
Director: Spielberg (Affleck shoulda gotten in!)
Actor: DDL (duh)
Actress: J-Law (very much deserved - didn't think Chastain was anything special in ZDT)
Supporting Actor: DeNiro or Tommy Lee Jones (but I'd love to see Waltz pull it off again!)
Supporting Actress: Anne Hathaway (duh)

And I'd love to see Wreck-It Ralph pull off Animated Feature (instead of Brave - blah).

I want to say I was shocked and upset Leonardo DiCaprio didn't receive a nomination for his performance in Django. He was robbed, he did an excellent job.

This year's nominees are all fabulous, so I don't mind who wins. I'd just like to see Wreck-It Ralph take home best animated picture, as that is the best film Disney's come up with in years. I did love Frankenweenie, too.

They were discussing the Oscars last night on CNN, and speculating how there could quite possible be more "surprises" this year than in year's past. Definitely good/close lineup's in all major categories.
