That bloody "you have a private message" pop up

I've had problems in the past with the "you have a private message" pop up where it kept coming up after you had read the message. I thought the solution was to manually mark it as having been read.

Today that has not worked. I have even deleted it, but every time I go to a new page BEEEEP you have a private message.

Not the end of the world, but it's getting really BEEEP annoying.

The beeping message has stopped. It took about ten minutes after I deleted the PM.

Mine WAS doing the same thing... but I forgot how I got it to stop....

also.... I HAVE read all my PM's, but this keeps showin up at the top of the page for the last week:

I've been getting pop ups that tell me I have messages, but when I go to read them there aren't any. I've asked the people whose name was listed, but they haven't sent any recently. :veryconfu

This evening I had two PMs I read them then manually marked them as read and the pop ups stopped. Why this did not work this morning I have no idea.

Mine says I have 3 unread messages at the top of the screen too, but when I click on it they have all been read. :veryconfu

1) Click the Check-Box which selects all messages
2) From the drop-down box, select Mark Read

Not ideal, but it works for the time being :wave:

The "Unread" messages that its telling you are "Sent" messages... Wait nope, never mind... I deleted those, now I still have two unreads. Hrmm...

But now how on earth do I get it to stop telling me I have a new message!

It seems to happen randomly. Sometimes I have replied to a PM, the listing says that there are no private messages but the pop up keeps appearing unless you go back to the PM list tick it and select "mark as read". Even then there was that one time where that did not erase the pop up - which eventually stopped after about ten munutes.

It's very weird.
