That 70s WDW Vibe

The past couple days I was at Poly for breakfast and walked around a bit outside...The last time I was in the lobby and around the grounds was late '80s - Everything pretty much looks the same except that restaurant that used to be there where they would cut slices of meat off for you in a buffet style restaurant isn't there...Forgot what it was called.

I remember feeling the 70s and 80s vibe very strongly when i started going there in the late 80s and early 90s.

A lot of it is gone now, but I still feel it.

Right, okay, I GET IT. EPCOT opened in the 80s, sure, I know that.

The concept being missed by some is that the style of the 70s wasn't simply switched off on January 1 1980, and because a lot of the early design style of EPCOT was created in the 70s it still has that vibe.

Your right about that. So in that sense you are correct. I mean all the planning for epcot was done in the late 70's.

The 1970's are in WDW's DNA and I love it!

I wish WDW would restore Tomorrowland back to it's 1970s glory. Turn itn into a future that never was, the way they do in Disneyland Paris with the future of 1890s. But...WDW's will be the real thing, actual datring from the period it is themed as.

Wisgh they would also recognise that the Contemporary is 1970s gold. Bring back the brown and oranges! :D
